Apple’s reported February 2025 price increase was $0.50 per month for U.S. iPhone AppleCare+ subscriptions, both standard coverage and AppleCare+ with Theft and Loss. The report said two-year subscription prices and service fees did not change. This was a monthly-plan adjustment—not a newly reported increase in October 2026 or a change established for every country or payment option.
What changed in February 2025
MacRumors reported that Apple raised the monthly price of both standard iPhone AppleCare+ and AppleCare+ with Theft and Loss by $0.50 in the United States. The report said the increase applied to the then-current iPhone lineup. It also said the two-year subscription price and service fees were unchanged in that adjustment. MacRumors’ February 2025 report is the source for the change.
Apple did not give a reason for the reported increase in the materials cited here. The report concerns U.S. monthly iPhone plans; it does not establish a price change for other countries, other Apple products, or every way of paying.

Apple’s March 2026 U.S. legal disclosure lists prices by model group and payment duration. For one group that includes iPhone 17, 16, 15, 14, 13, 13 mini, 12, 12 mini, and 11, its Theft and Loss prices are:

These are Apple’s listed U.S. prices for that model group, not the amount of the 2025 increase. Other model groups have different prices. Check Apple’s U.S. AppleCare+ legal disclosure for the device and payment option you are considering; prices and availability can change and vary by market.
Include service fees when comparing coverage
Apple’s U.S. coverage page lists these service fees: $29 for screen or back-glass damage, $99 for other accidental damage, and $149 for a Theft and Loss replacement. Apple says AppleCare+ covers unlimited accidental-damage repairs and offers Theft and Loss coverage as an option. Confirm the terms that apply to your device and plan before deciding. A lower recurring premium is not the whole cost comparison: consider whether you want Theft and Loss protection and which service fee would apply to the claim you are most concerned about. Compare the payment term, your exact iPhone model, and coverage tier rather than assuming one listed price applies to every iPhone.

- When buying an iPhone: Apple says you can start a new AppleCare+ plan with a new Apple product.
- After buying: For 60 days after a new Apple purchase, Apple says you can obtain AppleCare+ through the device’s Settings. Open Settings and follow the AppleCare+ offer shown for that device; the available plans and displayed prices are the ones to verify.
The 60-day window and purchase route are stated on Apple’s iPhone coverage page. Eligibility and plan options may depend on device and market.
