Apple had not confirmed an October 2026 event in the sources reviewed through October 8. Reports expect an announcement around October 13 focused on a screen-equipped smart-home hub, an updated Apple TV, and a new HomePod mini; separate reporting suggests another possible announcement batch in the final week of October. Those dates and products remain rumors, and Apple could announce products without holding a live event.
What might Apple announce in October?
The most specific report, published by 9to5Mac on October 6 and attributed to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, expected an October 13 announcement covering three home products. 9to5Mac identified them as the HomePad smart-home hub, HomePod mini 2, and Apple TV 4K. These are reported product names and expectations, not confirmed Apple launches; the report did not establish final specifications or availability.
Screen-equipped smart-home hub
The expected hub is described as a smart-home device with a screen. The reporting cited here does not establish its final name, features, price, or release date.

Could there be another announcement later in October?
On October 5, 9to5Mac relayed a MacRumors report suggesting another batch of Apple products in the final week of October. That report did not name the products, give an exact date, or say whether the announcements would arrive at a live event, in videos, or by press release. It is therefore less specific than the October 13 expectation.
A September 22 MacRumors roundup listed possible before-year-end releases beyond the home products: an iPad mini refresh, a 24-inch iMac, a base 14-inch MacBook Pro, redesigned OLED MacBook Pro models, Apple TV, and HomePod mini. Inclusion on that rumor list does not establish that any of those devices will be announced in October.
Is Apple holding a live event?
Not according to an official confirmation in the sources reviewed. The October 13 date is a reported expectation for an announcement, not proof of a keynote or other live event. Apple may use press releases or videos instead.

Recent history does not settle the question. MacRumors’ roundup records Apple October announcements in each year from 2021 through 2025: live events in 2021 and 2023, and press releases in 2022, 2024, and 2025. That is a count of those five years, not a prediction about Apple’s 2026 plans.
What has Apple officially announced recently?
Apple’s September 11, 2026 Newsroom update announced iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max, Apple Watch Series 12, Apple Watch Ultra 4, and AirPods 5. It also said Mac mini and Mac Studio were available to preorder. Those are confirmed September announcements; they do not confirm an October event or roadmap.
In the same update, Apple said the iPhone 18 Pro models feature the next generation of Apple Intelligence and Siri AI, described as rolling out in beta with iOS 27. That statement concerns the announced iPhones and Siri, not October event plans.

Should you buy now or wait?
Base the decision on the device you can buy today, not on unconfirmed specifications or a rumored date. If you need a smart speaker now and the current HomePod mini meets your needs, buying now avoids waiting on an uncertain refresh. If a possible new model is central to your decision, wait for Apple to announce it and compare confirmed features, price, and availability before choosing.
The same principle applies to an Apple TV, iPad mini, or Mac: the reports do not establish which devices will launch in October, or when any rumored product would go on sale. Check Apple’s Newsroom and Apple Events pages for confirmation before making a purchase decision tied to these reports.
