Apple launched three global live radio stations on December 10, 2024: Apple Música Uno for Latin music, Apple Music Club for dance and electronic music, and Apple Music Chill for ambient and reflective listening. They expand Apple Music Radio to six stations, and Apple says the live broadcasts are free to hear without an Apple Music subscription.
What are Apple Music’s three new live radio stations?
The stations are continuous, globally available channels with hosts, artist-led programs, interviews and premieres rather than simply on-demand playlists.
| Station | Editorial focus | Featured programming or contributors announced by Apple |
|---|---|---|
| Apple Música Uno | Latin music and culture | Programming connected with artists including Becky G, Rauw Alejandro and Grupo Frontera |
| Apple Music Club | Dance and electronic music | Shows and contributions from Honey Dijon, Jamie xx, FKA twigs and Nia Archives |
| Apple Music Chill | Ambient, calm and reflective listening | Contributions from Brian Eno and Stephan Moccio; Apple announced a premiere of Beck’s recording of George Harrison’s “Be Here Now” |
These channels join Apple Music 1, Apple Music Hits and Apple Music Country, bringing the live-radio lineup to six.

Is Apple Music radio free?
Yes. Apple says anyone can listen to Apple Music Radio without paying for an Apple Music subscription. That free access applies to the live radio stations; it should not be confused with the full subscription catalog and its on-demand features.

How Apple is positioning radio against Spotify
Apple’s claimed advantage is editorial and experiential: named stations, recognizable hosts, artist-led shows, interviews and first plays. A January 2025 Los Angeles Times analysis characterized that approach as a human-curation contrast with Spotify’s stronger emphasis on algorithms, including its AI DJ and AI-related Wrapped promotion.
Rank #2
- WORLD’S BEST IN-EAR ACTIVE NOISE CANCELLATION — Removes up to 2x more unwanted noise than AirPods Pro 2* so you can stay fully immersed in the moment.*
- BREAKTHROUGH AUDIO PERFORMANCE — Experience breathtaking, three-dimensional audio with AirPods Pro 3. A new acoustic architecture delivers transformed bass, detailed clarity so you can hear every instrument, and stunningly vivid vocals.
- HEART RATE SENSING — Built-in heart rate sensing lets you track your heart rate and calories burned for up to 50 different workout types.* With iPhone, you will have access to the Move ring, step count, and the new Workout Buddy,* powered by Apple Intelligence.*
- LIVE TRANSLATION — Communicate across language barriers using Live Translation,* enabled by Apple Intelligence.*
- EXTENDED BATTERY LIFE — Get up to 8 hours of listening time with Active Noise Cancellation on a single charge. Or up to 10 hours in Transparency using the Hearing Aid feature.*
That is a strategic distinction, not proof that one service is universally better. Spotify’s algorithmic discovery can be useful when you want personalized recommendations, while Apple’s radio format is designed to feel more like a programmed broadcast with people shaping the running order and context.
Apple Music versus Spotify: the practical differences

|---|---|---|
| Editorial model | Human hosts, curated shows and artist participation | More visible algorithmic and AI-led features, including AI DJ |

Where can you listen?
Apple Music
Open Apple Music and select the Radio section to find the six live stations. You do not need an Apple Music subscription to hear the radio broadcasts, although an Apple Account, app availability and regional service support may affect access.

TuneIn
Reporting in August 2025 said Apple made all six live Apple Music Radio stations available through TuneIn. That extends the stations beyond the Apple Music app, subject to TuneIn’s availability and local catalog or licensing conditions.
What each new station is best for
Choose Apple Música Uno for Latin music and culture
Música Uno is the focused choice for Latin programming, with Apple tying its launch to artists such as Becky G, Rauw Alejandro and Grupo Frontera. It is intended as a culture-and-artist channel, not merely a broad “Latin” shuffle.
Rank #4
- Automatically on, automatically connected
- Easy setup for all your Apple devices
- Quick access to Siri by saying “Hey Siri”
- Double-tap to play or skip forward
- New Apple H1 headphone chip delivers faster wireless connection to your devices
Choose Apple Music Club for dance and electronic music
Club targets dance and electronic listening and includes contributions from Honey Dijon, Jamie xx, FKA twigs and Nia Archives. It suits listeners who want a curated club-oriented flow and specialist voices.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors2Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches3Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsChoose Apple Music Chill for calm or ambient listening
Chill centers on ambient, calm and reflective music. Brian Eno and Stephan Moccio were announced as contributors, and Apple said the station would premiere Beck’s recording of George Harrison’s “Be Here Now.”
Best Value
- Active Noise Cancellation blocks outside noise, so you can immerse yourself in music
- Transparency mode for hearing and interacting with the world around you
- Spatial audio with dynamic head tracking places sound all around you
- Adaptive EQ automatically tunes music to your ears
- Three sizes of soft, tapered silicone tips for a customizable fit
What this launch does—and does not—prove
- It does show a larger, more clearly segmented live-radio offering: six stations after the December 2024 launch.
- It gives Apple a prominent human-programming story alongside its on-demand catalog, interviews and premieres.
- It does not establish that Apple has surpassed Spotify in subscribers, revenue or overall listening; no subscriber, revenue or overall-listening metrics are provided.
- It does not make every Apple Music feature free. The no-subscription claim applies to the live radio stations.
The Bottom Line
Apple’s three additions make its live radio lineup more distinctive: Música Uno, Club and Chill add Latin, dance/electronic and ambient channels to the existing six-station strategy. The clearest contrast with Spotify is Apple’s emphasis on hosts, artists and programmed broadcasts, while the stations’ free access and TuneIn distribution make that experience easier to try.
