Apple has confirmed an October 13 “Welcome Home” event focused on smart-home products, but it has not confirmed a separate iPad or Mac launch. MacRumors reports that another launch could follow later in October, with an iPad mini refresh and Mac products among the possibilities. The date, format, lineup, prices, and sale dates for any follow-up remain unconfirmed.
What Apple has confirmed for October 13
Apple announced an October 13 event or experience called “Welcome Home.” Reports describe it as focused on smart-home products; Apple has not identified it as an iPad or Mac launch. It is also unclear whether the event will take the form of a traditional keynote. MacRumors and Macworld cover the announcement and its reported focus.
What is reported about a second October launch
MacRumors reports that Apple may hold a second launch later in October, separate from the October 13 smart-home event. Its report says the exact devices are unknown, while identifying Macs as likely candidates and an iPad mini as expected around the month. That is reporting about a possible launch, not confirmation from Apple. Read the MacRumors report.

Treat the touchscreen and OLED references as rumors, not established specifications. MacRumors and Macworld report on the possibilities.
What is still unknown
- Whether Apple will hold a second launch later in October.
- The exact date and format of any follow-up.
- Which products, if any, will be included.
- Pricing, availability, and sale dates for the rumored iPads and Macs.
Because those details have not been established, there is not yet a sound basis for comparing rumored devices by price, screen, performance, or release timing.

Should you wait to buy an iPad or Mac?
If your current device meets your needs, waiting for confirmed announcements may give you clearer choices. If you need a tablet or laptop now, the reports alone do not establish when a replacement will arrive or what it will offer, so base a purchase on the models actually available and your immediate needs. Do not treat an existing iPad mini listing as the rumored refresh.
