Apple’s rumored smart home hub may come in Silver, Space Gray, Starlight, and Rose Pink, according to a leak reported by MacRumors on October 1, 2026. Apple has not announced the device or confirmed any of these finishes, so treat the list as a possibility—not a final lineup.
Which colors are rumored for Apple’s home hub?
MacRumors attributes the four-finish list to leaker pdfu:
- Silver
- Space Gray
- Starlight
- Rose Pink
The report says MacRumors contributor Aaron Perris had separately found references to the same four colors in macOS 26.7 Release Candidate code. That overlap lends context to the leak, but neither a code reference nor a leaker’s post confirms that Apple will sell the hub in all four finishes. MacRumors’ October 1 report also quotes pdfu saying the Photo Face setup preview changes according to the hardware color reported by the device. That describes color-aware setup artwork, not verified retail options.

The evidence remains unconfirmed and does not establish a final finish list. MacRumors also reported that Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman had described the hub as having Apple’s standard gray aluminum finish, without naming Silver, Starlight, or Rose Pink. That earlier description does not rule out additional colors, but it offers less support for the broader lineup than the four-color leak does. Apple has not published an announcement, product page, or verified retail listing for the rumored hub.

What is the rumored Apple Home hub?
The color report concerns a screen-equipped smart home device sometimes called “HomePad” in technology coverage; that name is not confirmed as Apple’s official product name. In a separate report relaying Gurman’s account, MacRumors described an approximately six-inch-square display in tabletop and wall-mounted versions. Reported design details include USB-C power, a metal arm and round speaker base for the tabletop version, and a thin base beneath the display for the wall version. The rumored functions include smart-home control, video calls, intercom-style messages, audio, photos, and kitchen tasks such as watching videos or looking up recipes by voice. These are reported details, not confirmed specifications. MacRumors’ September 30 report has further design context.

Apple’s iOS 26 feature documentation names Apple TV and HomePod as examples of home hubs for a specific capability involving a compatible Matter thermostat. That is narrow ecosystem context: it does not confirm the rumored display hub, its compatibility, or whether it will support that thermostat feature. Apple’s iOS 26 feature list describes the documented requirement.
