Apple’s U.S. smart-home accessories catalog lists Aqara’s Thermostat Hub W200 and Climate Sensor W100. An October 2, 2026 report says Apple added eight accessories in all: those two Aqara products plus six others. The W200 stands out for its advertised support for Apple Home’s Adaptive Temperature feature, but compatibility depends on your HVAC wiring and supported Apple devices.
What Apple added
The phrase “seven more” refers to seven products beyond the W200: the W100 and six non-Aqara accessories. Apple’s catalog listing confirms the products appear in its U.S. accessories catalog; it does not guarantee stock at a particular store.

Apple’s U.S. smart-home accessories catalog lists the Aqara products. The six other additions are named in 9to5Mac’s October 2, 2026 report.
What the Aqara W200 does
Aqara describes the W200 as a thermostat with a 4-inch color touchscreen, mmWave presence detection, a Zigbee hub, a Matter controller and a Thread border router. The manufacturer says it connects with Apple Home, Google Home, Alexa, Samsung SmartThings and Home Assistant. These are Aqara’s stated capabilities, not independently tested findings.

Apple Adaptive Temperature
Aqara says Apple Home’s Adaptive Temperature can adjust the thermostat using activity states such as home, sleep, away and extended away, alongside predictions about when a user is returning. Aqara specifies that the feature requires an iPhone or Apple Watch running software version 26 or later and a home hub—such as an Apple TV or HomePod—running software version 26 or later. Aqara’s January 6, 2026 CES announcement describes the feature; the W200 product page gives the device requirements.
Clean Energy Guidance
Aqara says Clean Energy Guidance makes small heating or cooling adjustments to align use with cleaner-grid periods. The feature is available in the contiguous United States. Aqara also says rate optimization works in PG&E service areas when the utility account is connected. These availability limits apply to the feature; they should not be confused with basic thermostat operation.

Check HVAC and wiring compatibility first
Aqara advises checking the wires connected to your existing thermostat before buying the W200. The company lists line-voltage (110/220V), millivolt and 0–10VDC systems as incompatible. Some compatible systems may need a C-wire adapter, which is sold separately; Aqara’s product page showed its adapter for $29.99 on October 2, 2026. Aqara says a trim plate is included, but that does not establish that every installation will be straightforward.
- Identify your HVAC system type and the wires at the existing thermostat.
- Check Aqara’s compatibility guidance for the W200 before installation.
- If your system requires a C-wire adapter, account for the separately sold adapter; not every home requires one.
If you cannot identify your wiring or system type, get qualified help before removing the existing thermostat. The W200’s smart-home features do not override HVAC compatibility requirements.

When the W100 sensor is useful
The Climate Sensor W100 is an optional extension, not a prerequisite for basic W200 thermostat operation. Aqara says multiple W100 sensors can support room-based control with the W200. For that function, the W100 must be in Zigbee mode and used through Aqara Home. Apple’s catalog also lists the W100 as a separate accessory.
Price and timing
According to 9to5Mac’s October 2, 2026 report, the W200 launched in April after its January CES unveiling, and Apple listed it at $169.95—$10 above Amazon’s price at the time of that report. Aqara’s U.S. product page showed $159.99 on October 2, 2026. These are dated retailer prices, not a guarantee of current pricing or availability. What to compare before choosing a smart thermostat
Apple’s catalog also lists the ecobee Smart Thermostat Premium. The available product information supports checking practical differences rather than declaring one model better: HVAC and wiring compatibility, the Apple features and devices you need, supported smart-home platforms, built-in sensing and hub functions, and the current price. The W200’s particular distinction in this comparison is Aqara’s stated Apple Adaptive Temperature integration, not a demonstrated performance advantage.
