The A19 in the iPhone 17 leads the A16 Bionic in the iPhone 15 across the cited CPU and graphics benchmarks, but the size of the advantage depends on the test. Tom’s Guide’s 2025 phone tests show a large gap in graphics performance and a smaller difference in a short video-export task. These are results from complete phones, not isolated chip tests.
Which iPhones are being compared?
Geekbench identifies the iPhone 17 as an A19 device and the iPhone 15 as an A16 Bionic device. Its browser also lists the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max with A16 Bionic. The benchmark figures below compare the iPhone 17 and iPhone 15, so they reflect those phones as tested rather than a controlled, chip-only comparison. Geekbench’s iPhone benchmark browser identifies the device-chip pairings and explains that its chart uses user-submitted Geekbench 6 results.
How much faster is A19 than A16 Bionic in CPU benchmarks?
Both cited CPU comparisons favor the A19-equipped iPhone 17. The figures differ between the independent review and Geekbench’s current aggregate, so read each pair within its own source rather than combining them.

| Source and result type | iPhone 17 (A19) | iPhone 15 (A16 Bionic) |
|---|---|---|
| Tom’s Guide, Geekbench 6 review results, 2025 | 3,701 single-core; 9,460 multi-core | 2,518 single-core; 6,179 multi-core |
| Geekbench Browser, user-submitted aggregate accessed 2026 | 2,995 single-core; 8,280 multi-core | 2,252 single-core; 5,967 multi-core |
Single-core and multi-core results measure different workloads within Geekbench 6. The review sample shows the A19 phone ahead in both; the browser aggregate points in the same direction. Because one set comes from a review and the other from a dynamic pool of submissions, neither should be treated as a universal score for every iPhone 17 or iPhone 15.

- 【Strong Adsorption】The inspiration of the silicone phone suction case comes from the adhesive force of the octopus. Each suction cup phone mount is 3.15 inches long and 2.17 inches wide, with 24 independent suction cups providing a stronger and more stable suction force, so you don't have to worry about your phone falling during use.
- 【Back of Phone Suction Grip】Remove the adhesive film on the phone suction cup and stick it on the phone case. You can then fix the phone on any smooth surface, which is very convenient. (The phone suction cup cannot be removed and reused after being attached to the phone case. It is recommended to attach it to a regular phone case, not a valuable one.)
- 【Widely Used】Our non-slip silicone phone sticky grip mount attaches to almost any flat phone case and make it compatible with common mobile phones such as iPhone and Android. You can shoot, watch videos or video calls in the kitchen, gym, dance studio, bathroom and other places.
- 【Capture the Wonderful Picture】Whether you are a TikTok creator or just like to share videos and photos, this phone suction cup can help you hands-free capture wonderful videos and photos for sharing with friends.
- 【Note】You can fix the phone suction cup on a smooth surface such as a mirror or glass. If necessary, wipe the suction cup with a damp cloth to obtain stronger suction. Before releasing your hand, make sure the phone is firmly fixed. (Not applicable to rough walls, wooden surfaces, and other uneven surfaces)
What do the graphics and video-export results show?
In Tom’s Guide’s 2025 Solar Bay Unlimited test, the iPhone 17 recorded 39 fps, compared with 13.8 fps for the iPhone 15. That is a substantial gap in this graphics test, but it is not a promise of the same frame rate or improvement in every game or graphics workload.
In the same review’s Adobe Premiere Rush export test, the iPhone 17 completed the task in 22 seconds and the iPhone 15 in 24 seconds. The two-second difference is much narrower than the graphics-test gap. A synthetic graphics result and the completion time for one short editing task therefore give different views of the phones’ performance. Tom’s Guide’s iPhone 17 benchmark comparison reports these review-specific results.

- SUPERIOR COMFORT — Unlike traditional circular ear buds, the design of EarPods is defined by the geometry of the ear. Which makes them more comfortable for more people than any other ear bud–style headphones.
- HIGH-QUALITY AUDIO — The speakers inside EarPods have been engineered to maximize sound output and minimize sound loss, which means you get high-quality audio.
- BUILT-IN REMOTE — EarPods with USB-C plug also include a built-in remote that lets you adjust the volume, control the playback of music and video, and answer or end calls with a pinch of the cord.
- COMPATIBILITY — Works with all devices that have a USB-C port.
- INTEGRATED MICROPHONE — A built-in microphone precisely captures your voice while you’re on the phone, taking a FaceTime call, or summoning Siri — so you’re always heard loud and clear.
Are A19 and A16 Bionic specifications available for a full chip-by-chip table?
Not from the cited Apple comparison material. Apple’s comparison page includes phones with both A19 and A16 Bionic, but the reviewed information does not establish a complete direct specification table covering CPU, GPU, Neural Engine, memory, manufacturing process, and power. The benchmark results above cannot fill those gaps: phone-level scores do not establish the underlying chip specifications. Apple’s iPhone comparison page is localized for Ukraine and supports the lineup context, not a complete chip specification comparison.
Is A19 worth upgrading from A16 Bionic?
The benchmarks support choosing the iPhone 17 if your priority is stronger measured performance, especially in the cited graphics test. They do not show that every everyday task will feel dramatically faster: the video-export result differs by only two seconds in this review. For someone already using an A16-equipped iPhone, these figures alone do not establish that an upgrade is worthwhile; the decision depends on whether the tested performance differences matter for that person’s use and on factors beyond chip benchmarks.
