The Apple A19 in iPhone 17 has a six-core CPU, a five-core GPU with Neural Accelerators, and a 16-core Neural Engine. Geekbench Browser submissions provide examples of its CPU and GPU scores, but they are individual runs—not controlled averages or a basis for directly comparing different Geekbench generations.
Apple A19 specifications
Apple lists the A19 as the chip in iPhone 17, identified by Apple as a 2025 model. Its published configuration is:
- CPU: six cores—two performance cores and four efficiency cores.
- GPU: five cores with Neural Accelerators.
- Neural Engine: 16 cores.
- Graphics feature: hardware-accelerated ray tracing.
These details describe the A19 configuration in iPhone 17; Apple’s cited specification page does not publish benchmark scores. The A19 is specified here as part of the phone, not as a standalone consumer product. The following are individual iPhone 17 entries in Geekbench Browser. Each score should be read with its test version and upload date; none is a lab average.

How to interpret the scores
Keep benchmark generations separate
The Geekbench 6.5.1 and Geekbench 7.0.0 CPU numbers come from different benchmark generations. Their workloads and scoring scales may differ, so the lower Geekbench 7 figures do not by themselves show that the A19 got slower. Compare CPU scores only when the benchmark version and test type match.

Distinguish CPU and GPU tests
Single-core and multi-core CPU scores describe different CPU workloads; the Metal score is a GPU test. They are not interchangeable measures of overall speed. A GPU result cannot be used to infer CPU performance, and CPU scores do not establish graphics performance.

A single browser submission does not establish a typical score range, sustained performance under heat, or how quickly a particular app will run. These records are user-submitted Geekbench Browser results, not repeated controlled tests. For a responsible comparison with another chip, match benchmark version and test type, identify the device, and seek like-for-like evidence for operating conditions and the workloads that matter.

What the available evidence does—and does not—show
The Apple specification supports the A19’s listed core configuration and graphics features in iPhone 17. The three Geekbench entries document example CPU and Metal outcomes on that device. They do not provide a comprehensive cross-device ranking or evidence about power use, sustained performance, memory bandwidth, manufacturing process, transistor count, peak clock speed, or performance in a specific app.
