Apple’s A19 Pro leads the available AnTuTu comparison, but that result does not prove it will be faster in every phone or workload. Apple lists A19 Pro in the iPhone 17 Pro with a six-core CPU and six-core GPU; Qualcomm describes Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 with a 1+4+3 CPU layout and Adreno graphics. Because the benchmark figures come from tested phones rather than a controlled chip-only test, compare the complete handsets—not just their processor names.

How the two processors differ on paper

A19 Pro and Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 belong to different phone platforms and release generations. The figures below reflect Apple’s iPhone 17 Pro specification and Qualcomm’s Snapdragon platform information; they are not a complete measure of speed.

Specification Apple A19 Pro Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2
Platform context Listed for iPhone 17 Pro by Apple’s technical specifications. Qualcomm mobile platform for smartphones, described in its product brief and platform page.
CPU configuration Six cores: two performance cores and four efficiency cores. One prime core, four performance cores and three efficiency cores. The product brief lists up to 3.36 GHz for the prime core, up to 2.8 GHz for performance cores and up to 2.0 GHz for efficiency cores.
GPU Six-core GPU with Neural Accelerators. Adreno GPU; Qualcomm lists hardware-accelerated ray tracing and graphics APIs.
Manufacturing process Not stated in the cited Apple specification. 4 nm, according to Qualcomm’s product brief.
Implementation variation The cited specification describes the iPhone 17 Pro configuration. Qualcomm also documents a 3.19 GHz version and says maximum CPU speed varies by platform version and OEM.

Core counts and clock speeds are not directly comparable across different chip designs. A higher listed frequency does not by itself establish that one processor is faster, more efficient or better for a particular app.

What the published AnTuTu comparison shows

91mobiles’ comparison reports these AnTuTu totals from its tested phones:

#1 Best Overall
SAMSUNG Galaxy A36 5G 2025 | 256GB, Dual SIM | 6.7" 120Hz AMOLED, IP67 Water Resistant, Android 15 | International Model Factory Unlocked for T-Mobile & Global | 25W Fast Charger Bundle (Black)
  • Please note, this device does not support eSIM. This device is compatible with T-Mobile networks and its MVNOs in the United States, carrier compatibility, activation, and network performance may vary depending on IMEI acceptance policies, carrier requirements, regional network support, and available frequency bands.
  • NOT compatible with the MVNO's (Spectrum, Cricket, Xfinity, H2O, Visible, etc.), may not recognize international IMEI numbers for activation. Carrier compatibility is not guaranteed in all areas of the United States. Please verify compatibility with your carrier prior to purchase. No U.S. manufacturer warranty; seller return policy applies.
  • The included 25W Fast Charger is a generic accessory and is not a Samsung-branded charger, 6.7" FHD+ Super AMOLED, 120Hz, 1080x2340px, Fingerprint (under display, optical), IP67 dust and water resistance
  • 256GB, 8GB, No SD Card Slot, Qualcomm Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 (4nm), Octa-core, Adreno 710 GPU, Android 15, up to 6 major Android upgrades, One UI 7

Processor named in comparison Reported AnTuTu total
Apple A19 Pro 2,521,699
Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 1,611,015

Those results favor A19 Pro in that comparison, but they are device test results—not fixed scores for every phone containing either chip. The available information does not establish a same-lab, same-design test that isolates the processors under identical conditions. Notebookcheck’s benchmark database also presents results across device implementations, illustrating why the tested handset matters.

What the scores can—and cannot—tell you

AnTuTu combines several kinds of workloads into an overall score. It should not be treated as a direct prediction of everyday responsiveness, game frame rates, battery life or long-session performance. CPU single-core, CPU multi-core, GPU, AI and whole-device tests measure different things; results from one category cannot stand in for all the others.

For a useful benchmark comparison, check the benchmark name and version, exact phone model, operating system, test conditions and whether the score is a peak or sustained result. Cooling design and power limits can affect performance, so two phones using the same processor may behave differently. The cited comparison does not establish a controlled gaming or battery-life winner, and no matched Geekbench result is established here.

Which one should you choose?

These chips are not ordinarily bought as standalone consumer components; they come as part of a phone. If you are choosing a device, compare the exact iPhone 17 Pro configuration with the particular Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 phone you are considering. Qualcomm’s documented clock variation makes identifying the Android model especially important.

  • For gaming: look for results from the same games, settings and resolution on the exact handsets; the AnTuTu total alone is not a gaming verdict.
  • For battery life: compare device-specific endurance tests, since the cited specifications and benchmark figures do not establish a winner.
  • For day-to-day fit: consider the phone’s software ecosystem, update support, app and game compatibility, storage configuration and current price alongside its processor.
