Short answer: there is no single apples-to-apples “Apify screenshot tool” to compare with Urlbox. Apify Store screenshot tools are separate Actors maintained by their developers; Urlbox offers a developer screenshot API and a distinct managed bulk product, Capturedeck. For application integrations, compare a specific Actor with the Urlbox API. For scheduled lists and team review, compare the Actor’s outputs and workflow with Capturedeck. Choose by running the same representative batch and measuring successful captures, failures, billing units, concurrency, and retention—not by treating published prices as a head-to-head cost or speed test.

This comparison uses One Scales’ community-maintained Website Screenshot Pro as the named Apify example because the title does not identify an Actor slug. Another surfaced option is Website Screenshot Generator. Their pricing and capabilities are specific to their listings, not to every Apify Actor or to Apify as a whole. Urlbox’s API and Capturedeck are separate products with different interfaces and plan structures.

First choose the workflow you actually need

“Bulk captures” can mean sending URLs through an application or processing a managed list on a schedule and reviewing the results with a team. Those workflows point to different Urlbox products.

Need Compare What to evaluate
Capture screenshots from your own application or automation A specific Apify Actor, such as Website Screenshot Pro, versus the Urlbox Screenshot API Request and run model, output retrieval, render options, rate or monthly limits, failure handling, and storage
Run recurring bulk lists and have people review or export results The specific Actor’s run and output workflow versus Urlbox Capturedeck Simultaneous pages, schedules, exports, retention, monthly capture quotas, and extra-credit rules

Do not use the Urlbox API’s render limits as if they were Capturedeck’s simultaneous-page limits, or compare either directly with an Actor’s per-result or run charges. They describe different units and operating models.

What the Apify comparison covers—and what it does not

Website Screenshot Pro is one community Actor

The Apify Store listing identifies the Actor as onescales/website-screenshot-pro, maintained by its developer. It advertises full-page and viewport screenshots, multiple device sizes, and JSON, CSV, API, and automation outputs. Its listing displays a starting rate of $30 per 1,000 results in the page context observed in 2026. That is an Actor-specific listing figure, not a universal Apify screenshot price. The listing also showed a 5.0 rating from four reviews; that small review count is not an independent quality assessment. See the Actor listing for its current details.

Other Actors have different scopes and billing

The separate Website Screenshot Generator listing describes bulk screenshots and PDFs from public web pages, including viewport, full-page, and selector capture. It describes pay-per-event charges for a run and successful captures, and directs users to its Pricing tab for exact current rates. This distinction matters: before estimating cost, confirm the exact Actor, its pricing unit, and the output it returns.

The documented integration pattern for the named example is a POST to Apify’s Run Actor endpoint, followed by retrieval of run output from the default dataset. Actor behavior should not be generalized from one listing to other Store Actors. In a trial, record successful output rows and files alongside failures, run charges, any applicable compute charges, and the work required to export or store results.

Urlbox API and Capturedeck are different products

Urlbox Screenshot API: for developer integrations

Urlbox documents URL and HTML rendering. Its API supports direct render links as well as JSON requests made synchronously or asynchronously. The API uses a project secret in a Bearer authorization header. The quickstart shows a JSON POST to /v1/render/sync; the API documentation also identifies /v1/render/async. Async requests can be handled with polling or a webhook, according to Urlbox’s product documentation. These options support an integration design, but they do not establish a completion time for your workload. See the Urlbox overview, API reference, and quickstart.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Urlbox describes more than 100 rendering options and optional output links for screenshots, metadata, markdown text, and hydrated HTML. Treat the option count as a vendor claim; the relevant question is whether the specific output and render controls you need are supported in the plan and request path you will use. Details are on the Screenshot API product page.

Capturedeck: for managed bulk lists and review

Capturedeck has its own plan table, oriented around webpages handled at a time and monthly captures. Its listed features include schedules; some tiers list timestamps and URLs, ZIP downloads, reports, storage integrations, and one-year data retention. Confirm which features apply to the tier you would buy, and how advanced scenarios affect credits, on the Capturedeck pricing page.

Published prices and limits: compare like with like

The figures below are vendor-published page values observed in 2026, not independent measurements. Prices and terms are volatile; check the linked live page before purchase. A tier’s quota is not necessarily the number of captures your particular rendering scenario consumes.

The Urlbox API pricing page also listed request limits from 30 to 1,000 requests per minute across tiers, with no limit displayed for Enterprise. It listed a seven-day trial for several tiers and stated that prices exclude VAT. It says failed requests are not charged and notes that longer or more complex requests can consume additional render credits. Capturedeck’s page says advanced scenarios can consume more credits; annual billing, VAT, and trial details may affect the actual quote. Verify the current terms for the product and plan you are considering rather than projecting either table onto a different workflow.

How to run a fair representative-batch evaluation

  1. Define the workload. Assemble URLs representative of your real sites, including the pages that are slow, JavaScript-heavy, or likely to show overlays. Record how many URLs you process, how many viewports or device sizes you capture per URL, how often runs occur, and the largest expected batch.
  2. Match capture settings. Use the same viewport or device dimensions, full-page versus viewport capture, delay or wait behavior, and any selector or output requirements in both products. Do not compare a simple viewport render in one with multiple device sizes or a full-page render in the other.
  3. Exercise the actual workflow. For Apify, select the exact Actor, configure its intended inputs, run a batch, and retrieve the run’s dataset and files. For Urlbox, test the API path you expect to integrate—synchronous or asynchronous—or, for managed lists, test Capturedeck. Do not infer one Urlbox product’s limits from the other.
  4. Record outcomes and costs. Count successful, failed, and retried captures; note run, event, compute, or render charges as applicable; record time spent on polling, exports, retries, and storage. For a repeated schedule, include the number of runs per month and captures per URL in the estimate.
  5. Check output persistence. Verify where files and result records land, who can retrieve them, how long they remain available, and whether downloading or saving to cloud storage is needed. Include that operational work in the comparison.
  6. Repeat enough to expose operational issues. One batch can reveal configuration problems but cannot establish a general speed or reliability winner. Test at the expected peak batch size and with the failure and recovery behavior your production workflow requires.

Rendering, throughput, and reliability factors

Count work in the right unit

A URL is not always one billable capture: capturing three viewport sizes or running a scheduled list repeatedly changes the work. Apify listings may price per result, event, or run depending on the Actor; Urlbox API plans express monthly renders and request-rate limits, while Capturedeck lists concurrent webpages and monthly captures. Build an estimate from the exact Actor or product’s unit, including retries, failures, and advanced rendering scenarios.

  • Please Note: To reach 10Gbps speed, keep the cable under 3.3 ft. For USB A Male to USB C adapters, try flipping the USB C connector. USB C Male to USB A adapters support bidirectional 10Gbps transfer within 3.3 ft

Separate concurrency from request rate

Requests per minute, simultaneous webpages, and monthly render quota are different constraints. An API that accepts requests at a given rate does not thereby promise that an entire batch will finish within a particular duration. Capturedeck’s “webpages at a time” figure is a concurrency-style limit, not a monthly quota. Measure end-to-end processing with your own batch and check plan limits before scheduling peak loads.

Plan for failures and persistence

Urlbox says failed API requests are not charged, while complex or longer requests can use additional render credits. Apify billing and recovery behavior depend on the selected Actor’s listing and run. Build retry handling around the response and run status you actually receive, avoid blindly repeating completed work, and track failures separately from successful files.

Urlbox’s quickstart says returned render URLs expire after 30 days unless the customer downloads the file or directs Urlbox to save it to cloud storage. If your workflow needs durable files, implement download or storage before relying on the returned link as an archive. Capturedeck’s retention terms are separate; its pricing page lists one-year retention on some tiers, so confirm the applicable plan.

Which should you shortlist?

  • Shortlist an Apify Actor if you already run workflows on Apify or its specific run-and-dataset pattern fits your automation. Verify the Actor slug, maintainer, inputs, output schema, current pricing unit, and recovery behavior before adopting it.
  • Shortlist Urlbox’s API if you need rendering integrated into an application and its documented synchronous or asynchronous request flow and outputs fit your implementation. Model render credits, request limits, and file persistence.
  • Shortlist Capturedeck if your core need is scheduled bulk capture with list-oriented processing and review or export features. Compare simultaneous pages and monthly capture allowance against your peak batch and schedule.

Neither the published plan pages nor the Actor listing establish a matched performance test or comparable total-cost result. A lower-looking list price is not proof of lower monthly cost when capture settings, billing units, failures, retries, storage, and run frequency differ.

Or skip the browser setup

If you want a direct screenshot API rather than managing an Actor run or assembling browser infrastructure, ScreenshotNeo returns a screenshot or PDF from one GET request. For a PNG/JPEG/WebP screenshot, for example:

curl -G "https://api.screenshotneo.com/v1/shot" -d access_key=YOUR_API_KEY --data-urlencode url=https://stripe.com -o shot.webp

See the ScreenshotNeo API documentation for request parameters and response details. ScreenshotNeo removes cookie/consent banners, newsletter popups, and chat widgets before capture; bot checks, blank pages, failed loads, timeouts, and cache hits are not billed. Its MCP server gives AI agents tools for screenshots, page information, and PDF capture. The Free plan includes 1,000 screenshots per month with no card, and paid plans start at $5 for 3,000.
