The Anker Nano Charger (45W, Smart Display, 180° Foldable, model A121D) is a single-port USB-C wall charger with a small screen that shows live charging wattage. The screen reports what the phone is drawing right now. It does not guarantee a fixed charging speed, because the output is set by the connected device and changes with battery level, temperature and usage. The model and battery-percentage readout is narrower still, and applies only to a specific list of Apple devices.
The figures below come from Anker’s own product pages for the A121D. The final section explains what that does and does not establish.
What the screen actually shows
Anker says the screen displays real-time charging wattage. That makes it a live readout of current output, not a rating. Anker also says lower displayed wattage is normal. Output can fall as the battery fills, and it can also drop when temperature or how the phone is being used affects charging. A reading well below 45W late in a charge is therefore the behaviour Anker describes, not evidence that the charger has failed.

Which devices get the battery-percentage readout
The recognition feature is limited to devices on Anker’s compatibility list. Anker says the charger identifies the model and battery percentage for the devices below. Because Anker can revise this list, check the current compatibility wording on its product page before buying if a specific device matters to you.
| Device | What Anker says the charger shows |
|---|---|
| iPhone 15, 16 and 17 series | Model and battery percentage |
| iPhone 17e | Excluded from the recognition feature |
| iPad (10th generation or later) | Model and battery percentage |
| Samsung and Pixel phones | Charge normally; do not receive the recognition display feature |
Anker’s list does not mention older iPhones for this feature, so do not assume the readout appears on them.

What 45W means in practice
The charger supports USB Power Delivery up to 45W and 3A PPS. Anker says the connected device sets the output, so the 45W figure is a ceiling. It is the most the port can deliver, not what any particular phone will accept.

Protocol limits
The charger supports 3A PPS, a variable-voltage mode used by some Android fast-charging implementations. It does not support 5A PPS. A phone that requests 5A PPS will therefore fall back to a mode the charger supports, which may be slower.
Galaxy phones
Anker’s official page says certain Galaxy models are limited to 27W when used with this charger. It also says the Galaxy S25 series supports full-speed fast charging with it. Check your exact Galaxy model against Anker’s list, because the cap applies to specific models rather than the whole brand.

Size and weight against a 30W charger
Anker’s EU product page says the Nano is 47% smaller and 20% lighter than a standard 30W charger. Those are Anker’s own comparative claims. The page does not fully describe how the comparison was measured, and it does not give the dimensions of the comparison charger, so the percentages cannot be checked against a specific product.

Care Mode and temperature claims
Anker advertises a Care Mode. Its UK product page says Care Mode can make the charger up to 20°C cooler and can lower the phone’s internal battery temperature by up to 5°C. Anker attributes these numbers to its own internal testing. The page does not give the test conditions, the phone used or the ambient temperature, so treat them as the manufacturer’s result rather than a typical outcome.
What is in the box and which cable to add
The box contains the charger only. Anker identifies two cable types to match: USB-C to USB-C for USB-C devices, and USB-C to Lightning for older iPhones. Since Anker does not include a cable, buy one that matches your device’s connector.
For 45W operation, choose a cable rated for at least 3A, which is the standard for 60W-class USB-C cables. Confirm the rating on the cable’s own listing before buying. A cable that is rated lower will limit what the charger can deliver.

Who this charger suits
- A good fit if you want one USB-C port with a readout of what the phone is drawing.
- A good fit if you own an iPhone 15 or newer, or an iPad (10th generation or later), and want the model and battery percentage on the screen.
- A poor fit if you need more than one port, since this model has only one.
- A poor fit if you expect the screen to promise a fixed charging speed. It shows what the device is taking at the moment.
- A weaker case if Care Mode is the main reason to buy, because its temperature figures come from Anker’s own testing.
The strongest argument for the A121D is transparency. The screen tells you what the phone is actually taking, which a plain wall plug does not. Its limits are the ones the specifications already show: one port, no cable in the box, and a readout that is device-dependent.
What these figures do and do not establish
Every number in this article comes from Anker’s official US, EU and UK product pages for the A121D, as published in 2026. No independent charging-speed, thermal or battery-life test was located for this model, so the performance and comparison claims are the manufacturer’s. Product pricing, availability, variants and compatibility wording can change, so check Anker’s current listing before you buy.
