The Anker Nano Charger (45W, Smart Display, 180° Foldable), model A121D, delivers up to 45W from one USB-C port, just like other chargers rated for 45W. Its distinction is the built-in display, limited recognition of certain Apple devices, Care Mode and a plug that folds and rotates. A 45W rating is a maximum, not a guarantee: the device and charging conditions determine the power actually delivered.
What does the Anker Nano 45W charger add?
Compared with a basic 45W USB-C charger, the A121D’s main extras are information on its screen and controls for its charging behavior. A standard charger is a category, not one specific design, so features such as port count, charging profiles and foldable prongs vary by model.
A display for charging information
Anker says the screen displays charging power in real time and can also show temperature, charging mode and animations. It is not a touchscreen; consult the A121D quick-start guide for how to navigate it.

Anker lists device-name and battery information for iPhone 15, 16 and 17 series, excluding iPhone 17e, and iPad 10th generation or later. Samsung and Pixel devices are not supported for recognition, but Anker says charging works normally. Older Lightning iPhones may charge without showing battery percentage. Care Mode
Anker describes Care Mode as a lower-temperature charging mode. The company reports that, in its internal lab test, maximum internal phone-battery temperature was up to 9°F lower than with other 45W chargers during a full 0–100% charge at 77°F. This is an Anker-reported result, not independent verification; it should not be read as proof of improved battery longevity or a result guaranteed in everyday use.
Does it charge faster than another 45W charger?
Not necessarily. The A121D supports USB Power Delivery profiles of 5V/3A, 9V/3A, 15V/3A and 20V/2.25A, plus PPS ranges, according to Anker’s input/output specifications. A connected device negotiates power with the charger, and the device’s limits, its battery level and charging conditions affect the result. Anker notes that power can fall as the battery fills.

Because “standard 45W charger” does not identify a particular product, there is no single set of profiles or real-world speed to compare against. For a useful comparison, check the alternative charger’s supported protocols and voltage/current profiles against those of the device you plan to charge. The display tells you what is happening with a connected device; it does not raise the charger’s 45W ceiling.

The A121D has one USB-C port. Its prongs fold and rotate to 90° or 180°, which gives more flexibility in how it sits against a wall or power strip. Anker lists its dimensions as 3.4 × 3.5 × 4 cm and its weight as 75 g. A comparison charger may differ in port count, orientation and size; compare the specific models rather than assuming those traits are typical of every 45W charger.

Is a cable included, and what does it cost?
Anker says the A121D does not include a charging cable, so you will need a suitable USB-C-to-USB-C cable if you do not already have one. The manufacturer also sells a separate Anker Nano Charger (45W) with USB-C Cable; that is a different product and should not be confused with the smart-display A121D.

Which one should you choose?
- Choose the A121D if you value visible charging information, supported Apple-device recognition, Care Mode, or a foldable, rotatable plug.
- Choose a different 45W charger if its specific port arrangement, charging profiles, dimensions or included cable better suit your setup. Compare its stated specifications with your device’s requirements.
- Do not pay extra for the display expecting more power. Both options are in the 45W class; actual charging depends on the device and conditions, not just the maximum rating.
