For most Android users, the best place to manage app permissions is already on the phone: Android’s built-in Permission manager, per-app settings, and Privacy Dashboard. These provide direct controls and visibility into recent access. Third-party tools in a recent roundup do not all perform the same job, and the available evidence does not verify seven current, equivalent permission-manager apps.

Which Android permission manager should you use?

Start with Android’s built-in controls if you want to allow or deny access to location, camera, microphone, or other data. Use the Privacy Dashboard to see recent permission access, and Android’s unused-app feature to reduce access for apps you have not used in a long time. These are distinct functions: a data-usage monitor or an ADB utility is not automatically a permission manager.

How to manage app permissions in Android

Change permissions for one app

  1. Open Settings.
  2. Tap Apps, then select the app.
  3. Tap Permissions and choose the access setting you want.

Google’s general Android guidance documents this route; labels and paths can vary by device and Android release. For supported permissions such as location, camera, and microphone, choices may include allowing access all the time, only while using the app, asking every time, or denying it. The options depend on the permission and device. Google’s Android permission guide explains the controls.

Review apps by permission type

Open Settings, go to Privacy, and choose Permission manager to review which apps have a particular permission. On Pixel phones, Google also documents the Permission manager, Privacy Dashboard, and device-wide camera and microphone controls. Exact steps can differ across Android devices. Google’s Pixel privacy settings guide covers those controls.

Yojaro 4Pack Silicone Suction Phone Case Mount, Silicon Adhesive Smartphones Stand Sticky, Hands-Free Phone Accessories Holder for Selfies and Videos (Black & White & Translucent & Light Pink)
  • 【Strong Adsorption】The inspiration of the silicone phone suction case comes from the adhesive force of the octopus. Each suction cup phone mount is 3.15 inches long and 2.17 inches wide, with 24 independent suction cups providing a stronger and more stable suction force, so you don't have to worry about your phone falling during use.
  • 【Back of Phone Suction Grip】Remove the adhesive film on the phone suction cup and stick it on the phone case. You can then fix the phone on any smooth surface, which is very convenient. (The phone suction cup cannot be removed and reused after being attached to the phone case. It is recommended to attach it to a regular phone case, not a valuable one.)
  • 【Widely Used】Our non-slip silicone phone sticky grip mount attaches to almost any flat phone case and make it compatible with common mobile phones such as iPhone and Android. You can shoot, watch videos or video calls in the kitchen, gym, dance studio, bathroom and other places.
  • 【Capture the Wonderful Picture】Whether you are a TikTok creator or just like to share videos and photos, this phone suction cup can help you hands-free capture wonderful videos and photos for sharing with friends.
  • 【Note】You can fix the phone suction cup on a smooth surface such as a mirror or glass. If necessary, wipe the suction cup with a damp cloth to obtain stronger suction. Before releasing your hand, make sure the phone is firmly fixed. (Not applicable to rough walls, wooden surfaces, and other uneven surfaces)

What the Privacy Dashboard shows

The Privacy Dashboard lists which apps accessed permissions and when. Its documented history window is version-specific: Google says Android 13 shows the last seven days, while Android 12 shows the last 24 hours. Do not assume those lookback periods apply to every Android version or device. Google’s Privacy Dashboard guide provides the version details.

How Android handles apps you no longer use

Android can automatically revoke permissions from apps that have not been used for a long time. Its unused-app feature can also delete temporary files, stop background activity, and stop notifications. To exempt an app, open that app’s unused-app settings and turn off Pause app activity if unused. Google’s unused-app guide explains the setting.

Apple EarPods Headphones with USB-C Plug, Wired Ear Buds with Built-in Remote to Control Music, Phone Calls, and Volume
  • SUPERIOR COMFORT — Unlike traditional circular ear buds, the design of EarPods is defined by the geometry of the ear. Which makes them more comfortable for more people than any other ear bud–style headphones.
  • HIGH-QUALITY AUDIO — The speakers inside EarPods have been engineered to maximize sound output and minimize sound loss, which means you get high-quality audio.
  • BUILT-IN REMOTE — EarPods with USB-C plug also include a built-in remote that lets you adjust the volume, control the playback of music and video, and answer or end calls with a pinch of the cord.
  • COMPATIBILITY — Works with all devices that have a USB-C port.
  • INTEGRATED MICROPHONE — A built-in microphone precisely captures your voice while you’re on the phone, taking a FaceTime call, or summoning Siri — so you’re always heard loud and clear.

What the seven named options actually do

A September 22, 2026 TechDator roundup names the options below. Its descriptions come from a secondary source and do not independently establish each tool’s current maintenance, compatibility, or feature set. Treat these names as leads to verify, not as a vetted ranking.

Option What the roundup describes How to interpret it
Android’s native Permission manager Android settings for reviewing and changing app permissions. Built-in direct permission controls; the baseline for most users.
Bouncer Granting permission while an app is in use and revoking it afterward. A permission-focused utility according to the roundup; verify current Android support and behavior before installing.
GlassWire Monitoring app data use. A data-use monitor, not established here as a direct permission manager.
BurnerGuard Listing app permissions. The roundup does not establish that it can change permissions or confirm its current status.
Shizuku Providing a way to issue ADB commands. An advanced command route, not an equivalent standalone permission manager; setup and compatibility need verification.
Privacy Dashboard by Rushikesh Kamewar Showing permission use. A separate third-party app, distinct from Android’s built-in Privacy Dashboard; current capabilities are not independently confirmed here.
Antivirus apps Included as a category. Not a specific app or a verified direct permission-management option.

Source for the descriptions in this table: TechDator’s September 22, 2026 roundup. It does not establish seven equivalent, currently supported permission managers.

How to check a third-party app before installing it

Review the app’s current Google Play Store or developer listing rather than relying on an older roundup. Check whether it has recent updates, supports your Android release and device, and requires root access, ADB, or other setup. Read its data practices, and confirm that the feature you want—changing permissions, showing recent access, or monitoring data use—is actually documented for your device.
