Bitcoin privacy developer Amir Taaki said he was questioned by Singapore police for six hours and deported from the country, according to an October 6, 2026 report by Bitcoin Magazine republished by CryptoRank. The report relays Taaki’s account; it does not independently confirm the deportation, and it provides no official Singapore explanation for the incident.
What Taaki says happened in Singapore
Bitcoin Magazine’s report, republished by CryptoRank on October 6, 2026, says Taaki posted on X that Singapore police questioned him for six hours and then deported him. The report quotes him saying the questioning concerned “Everything about what I work on.” The six-hour duration is Taaki’s reported account, not an independently verified figure. Read the CryptoRank republication of the Bitcoin Magazine report.
The available report does not include a statement from Singapore police or immigration authorities or give an official reason for the reported deportation. That absence in the report does not establish whether an explanation exists elsewhere.
