AMD’s listed attack vectors require a local attacker; the bulletin does not report confirmed exploitation in the wild or a victim count.
What AMD’s chipset-driver bulletin covers
AMD advisory AMD-SB-4015 covers vulnerabilities in the AMD chipset-driver package and bundled components, not just one standalone driver. The affected components named by AMD include the Platform Management Framework (PMF), AMD Sensor Fusion Hub (SFH), AMD Secure Processor (ASP) PCI, GPIO, and installer-related files.
AMD says a researcher reported vulnerabilities in the Sensor Fusion, PMF, and ASP PCI drivers through its bug bounty program. The bulletin describes several different security consequences. Information disclosure is one; privilege escalation, arbitrary code execution, denial of service, and crashes are separate risks, not a single outcome of every listed flaw.
Which flaws can expose data?
PMF out-of-bounds read: CVE-2025-48520
AMD describes CVE-2025-48520 as improper input validation in the PMF driver. A local attacker could trigger an out-of-bounds read, potentially causing information disclosure or a crash. AMD assigns it a CVSS 3.1 score of 6.1, rated Medium.

PMF uninitialized-memory read: CVE-2025-48513
AMD describes CVE-2025-48513 as use of an uninitialized resource in PMF. The flaw can expose uninitialized kernel memory, creating a loss of confidentiality or availability. AMD also rates it 6.1 Medium under CVSS 3.1.
Other high-severity entries

AMD also lists privilege-escalation and arbitrary-code-execution risks among the bulletin’s impacts. Those are distinct from the PMF information-disclosure descriptions above; the information available here does not establish which of the other CVEs maps to each impact.
Does this mean an attacker can remotely take your data?
Not on the basis of AMD’s listed attack vectors alone: the bulletin characterizes the vulnerabilities as requiring a local attacker. That means an attacker needs local access or an existing foothold on the affected system; it is not evidence that simply connecting to the internet lets someone exploit the chipset driver remotely. A local foothold can still matter, because information disclosure or privilege escalation may help an attacker who has already gained access.

AMD’s bulletin does not report confirmed in-the-wild exploitation or a number of affected victims. That is a limit on what the bulletin reports, not proof that exploitation is impossible or that every unpatched system has been compromised.
How to tell whether your computer needs an update
There is no single fixed chipset-driver version identified for every AMD platform in the bulletin. The package and remediation depend on the specific computer or motherboard, so a version number from another model is not a reliable test.

- Identify the exact system. For a laptop or prebuilt desktop, note the full model and product number from the manufacturer’s support page or device label. For a custom-built desktop, identify the motherboard model and hardware revision; Windows’ System Information tool (msinfo32) can help identify the baseboard.
- Check the correct support source. Start with the computer maker’s support page for a laptop or prebuilt system. For a custom-built PC, check the motherboard maker’s support page for the exact board and revision. AMD’s chipset-driver support options may also apply, but use a package that matches your platform.
- Compare the package information. Check its release date, supported model or chipset, and any security-fix or CVE coverage stated by the provider. Do not assume that a newer-looking number, a generic AMD package, or a package listed for a different system includes the needed fix.
- Install and restart as directed. Use the package from the relevant manufacturer, close work in progress, run its installer, and follow its prompts. Restart if the installer requests it; follow your organization’s change process on a managed computer.
- Verify the result. Confirm that the installer completed and that the installed AMD chipset-software package or relevant device-driver versions match the package supplied for your exact model. If the installation fails or the system maker does not list an applicable update, contact that maker rather than substituting a driver from an unrelated model.
What organizations should do
For fleet remediation, match each affected endpoint to its platform and the package offered by its OEM or AMD before deployment. Track the package release date and the security coverage stated by the supplier, plan any required restart, and verify installation on the endpoint. Since the listed vectors require a local attacker, patching should sit alongside controls that limit local access and help detect attempts at privilege abuse; it is not a substitute for those controls.
