To download a game on an Amazon Fire tablet, open Games & Apps or the Apps or Games app. Choose a game from Library to download it again, or search the Store for a new one. Check the individual listing for availability, price, and compatibility with your tablet.
Download a game from the Store or Library

Connect the tablet to the internet if you need to open the Store or download the game.

Open Games & Apps, or launch the Apps or Games app. Amazon’s general instructions are available in its Fire tablet help.

To download a game already associated with your account, open Library and select it. To find a new game, search the Store.

Before downloading, review that game’s Store listing for its price, availability, and compatibility with your device.
Check whether a game works on your Fire tablet
Do not assume that a game is available, free, or compatible just because it is an Android app. Fire OS is based on Android, but that does not guarantee every Android game will run on every Fire device. Amazon’s Fire tablet device information is useful platform context; the game’s Store listing and your tablet’s generation are the relevant checks before you try to install it.

Manage game downloads for a child profile
Child profiles have separate content and Store controls. A parent can manage a child’s content through Parent Dashboard or on the Fire tablet. In Parent Dashboard, select the child profile, choose Amazon Kids+ subscription content or Amazon content, and turn items on or off. Amazon explains these options in its guide to adding content to a child profile.
Children may request permission to download Store titles. After a parent approves a request, the child can download the title and make in-app purchases. The child profile’s Store setting controls Store access. Parents can also allow requests for apps marked “Guidance Suggested”; Amazon cites Netflix, Zoom, and Minecraft as examples.

Amazon Kids can share content from an Amazon library, filter content by age, manage screen time and web browsing, and let parents review activity through Parent Dashboard. Features vary by device, and Kids is available only in select marketplaces. Kids+ is an optional subscription for premium, kid-friendly, ad-free content; it is not required to download ordinary games. See Amazon’s Amazon Kids overview for service details.
Review a game before allowing it
Some games may include ads, external links, in-app purchases, requests for personal information, or a separate subscription. Review the particular game and the child profile’s settings before allowing access. Amazon’s child app safety guidance describes issues parents may want to consider.

Use parental controls on an adult profile
For users aged 13 or older on an adult profile, Amazon documents a separate control path. Swipe down twice to open Quick Settings, then go to Settings > Profile and Parental Controls. Turn on Restrict access to current profile, set and record the parental-controls password, and select Finish. These controls can restrict downloading and shopping. Amazon’s parental-controls instructions note that this password is different from the lock-screen password; forgetting it may require a factory reset to restore full access.
If you cannot find or download a game

The game is not in Library: Search the Store instead. Library is for titles already associated with the account.

The Store or download will not load: Check that the tablet is connected to the internet.

You are using a child profile: Check the profile’s Store setting or ask the parent to review and approve the request.

The listing is unavailable or incompatible: Availability and compatibility can depend on the title, marketplace, and Fire tablet generation. Use the listing for the game and do not assume another Android version will work.
