Apple has not announced AirPods Pro 4 or confirmed a release date. The latest Pro model listed in Apple’s product record is AirPods Pro 3, released in 2025. Reports about a possible higher-end or camera-equipped model are unconfirmed and do not establish that either product will be called AirPods Pro 4.
When will AirPods Pro 4 come out?
There is no confirmed AirPods Pro 4 release date. Apple’s AirPods archive lists AirPods Pro 3 as its September 2025 Pro announcement and AirPods 5 as its September 2026 AirPods announcement; it does not list a newer Pro announcement in the entries reviewed. Apple Support identifies AirPods Pro 3 as released in 2025.
What release timing do the rumors suggest?
Third-party reports have discussed possible new high-end earbuds, but the timing and identity of the rumored product have shifted. In January 2026, MacRumors reported that analyst Ming-Chi Kuo expected a successor in 2026, while another leaker suggested it might instead be a more expensive, higher-end version of AirPods Pro 3. That report said timing was unclear.
Later reports focused on camera-equipped earbuds. A September 2, 2026, 9to5Mac roundup summarized reports that their timing had moved to late 2027. A subsequent MacRumors update said the model had been pushed to the following year from an expected appearance at Apple’s September 9, 2026 event, citing Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman. Neither report confirms a firm launch window or that the product is AirPods Pro 4.

Should you buy AirPods Pro 3 or wait?
- Consider AirPods Pro 3 if you need earbuds now. It is the confirmed current Pro generation; Apple has not announced a successor date.
- Waiting is a personal trade-off, not a date-based decision. If you are satisfied with your current earbuds, you can wait for an official announcement, but reports do not establish when a new model will ship.
- Do not buy or delay based on rumored specifications. Claims about a camera, gesture controls, an H3 chip, or pricing are not confirmed product facts.
