“Airen” could not be identified as a relevant streaming or hosting product, so there is no reliable basis for comparing its features or price with cloud hosting. The useful comparison is between running radio playout and encoding locally, using a cloud relay for a feed you already produce, and hosting prerecorded programming in the cloud. Those options do different jobs.

What YouTube requires from the sending setup
YouTube’s encoder workflow starts in Live Control Room: create or schedule a live stream, copy its stream URL and stream key into your encoder, configure the encoder, and start sending the feed. YouTube lists hardware encoders among its encoder options, but does not promise that a given device or unattended configuration will run continuously or recover after a failure. Use RTMPS only with a compatible encoder
YouTube describes RTMPS as RTMP carried over a Transport Layer Security (TLS/SSL) connection. In Live Control Room, reveal the RTMPS server URL and pair it with the stream key in an encoder that supports RTMPS. A key point is compatibility: having a YouTube stream key does not make an encoder capable of RTMPS. Follow YouTube’s RTMPS instructions.
Protect the stream key
The stream key authorizes the encoder to send to your broadcast. Keep it private, enter it only in the intended encoder or provider, and replace it in Live Control Room if you believe it has been exposed. If you switch between local and cloud sending, check that the correct key and server URL are configured in the active sender.

Plan for failure, monitoring, and long broadcasts
A 24/7 label or advertised reconnect function is not proof of uninterrupted delivery. A local setup can be affected by the playback process, encoder, computer, power, or internet connection. With a cloud workflow, the provider may operate the playout or relay, but you still need to know what happens if its source, service, or connection to YouTube fails. Ask who monitors the broadcast, what restarts automatically, and what requires your action.
- Confirm whether the service plays uploaded files or only relays a live feed.
- Ask whether reconnect applies to a dropped YouTube connection, a lost source feed, or both.
- Determine how you are alerted to a stopped or unhealthy broadcast and whether a person must intervene.
- Check how playlists, repeat behavior, and transitions are handled for your content.
- Test the full workflow—including a deliberate restart—before depending on it unattended.
There is an archive caveat for a continuous broadcast: YouTube says streams under 12 hours are automatically archived. Do not infer from that guidance that one uninterrupted 24/7 stream will be fully archived. If you need recordings, plan a separate recording or shorter broadcast schedule and verify the current behavior in YouTube’s live encoder guidance.

Compare the real cost, not just the service fee
The available published information does not establish a defensible numeric cost or uptime comparison among these approaches. For local operation, account for the equipment, electricity, internet service, maintenance, and the time needed to monitor and recover it. For a cloud service, verify the recurring charge, billing period, storage or usage limits, and whether the quoted plan permits continuous use.
