UAE-based energy technology company AIQ has signed an agreement to enter India’s oil and gas sector, with a planned deployment across the refineries, fuel stations and digital stores of an unnamed Indian oil and gas conglomerate. The September 30, 2026 report does not identify the customer or disclose the contract’s value, duration, rollout date or specific AIQ products involved.

What the AIQ–India agreement covers

AIQ CEO Dennis Jol said the agreement provides for deploying the company’s technology across the Indian conglomerate’s refineries, fuel stations and digital stores. The account, published by Moneycontrol on September 30, 2026, credits Reuters inputs.

The reported footprint names three types of operating locations, but it does not explain what each deployment will do. It also leaves key commercial and implementation details undisclosed:

  • The specific AIQ products or use cases included

As a result, the agreement is evidence of a market-entry deal, not enough information to assess its size, schedule or technical scope.

How this differs from ADNOC’s other India agreements

ADNOC announced two separate strategic collaborations in India on May 15, 2026. One was with Indian Strategic Petroleum Reserves Limited on crude, LNG and LPG storage and strategic reserves; the other was with Indian Oil Corporation on expanded LPG supply and trading. Those announcements concern energy storage and supply, not the AIQ software deployment reported in September. ADNOC’s May 15 announcement describes the collaborations.

AIQ’s expansion—and its continuing ADNOC ties

The September report describes AIQ as a joint venture between Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC) and Presight. It says the company began exporting technology 12 to 15 months before the report and was then operating in North America, Kazakhstan, Egypt, Colombia, Malaysia, Vietnam and Kuwait. These timing and market-reach details are attributed to CEO Dennis Jol.

The same report says customers other than ADNOC accounted for about 5% of AIQ’s business at that time. That reported figure suggests the India agreement is part of an effort to expand beyond a business still heavily tied to ADNOC; it does not reveal what share India might eventually represent.

ADNOC’s May 1, 2024 announcement described Presight taking a 51% stake in AIQ and ADNOC retaining 49%, and called AIQ a standalone company within Presight’s portfolio. Those are the ownership percentages in that dated announcement; they should not be read as confirmation that the structure has not changed since. ADNOC’s 2024 announcement also attributed more than 20 AI applications and 16 patents to AIQ. ADNOC reported that AI solutions generated $500 million (AED 1.84 billion) in value in 2023 and estimated that up to 1 million tons of CO2 were abated between 2022 and 2023. Those are company-reported figures, not independent measurements established by the cited announcement.

What AIQ’s ADNOC work reveals—and what it does not

AIQ announced a separate three-year, $340 million contract with ADNOC in March 2025 to deploy ENERGYai and related solutions across ADNOC’s upstream value chain. AIQ said the work targeted seismic analysis, geological modeling and real-time process monitoring, using large language models, agentic AI, Azure cloud technologies, the OSDU framework and OpenAI models. AIQ’s announcement offers context for the type of enterprise deployment it has undertaken, but it is not evidence of the Indian contract’s price, products or use cases.

A separate AIQ release in August 2025 described collaboration with SLB on ENERGYai workflows for ADNOC subsurface operations. In an early test environment using 15% of ADNOC’s data and two fields, AIQ reported that a seismic agent achieved a 10x increase in interpretation speed and a 70% increase in precision. Those results are company-reported, specific to that test context and unrelated to the India deal; they are not independently verified results for a live Indian deployment.

What remains unknown about the deal

The available account establishes a customer category and intended deployment locations, but not the agreement’s commercial scale or operational details. In particular, it does not establish whether the Indian deployment uses ENERGYai, which individual workflows AIQ will support, when implementation will begin, or whether the deal includes recurring services. None of those details can be inferred from AIQ’s earlier ADNOC contract.
