To add Acorn TV to an LG Smart TV, press Home, open Apps or LG Content Store, search for Acorn TV, and select Install if it appears. Then choose Launch. The app may not be available for every LG model or region, so check the store with your TV model and actual location selected.
Install Acorn TV from the LG app store

Connect your TV to the internet. Sign in to your LG account if prompted, and make sure the LG Services Country matches your actual location. LG support explains account, network, and country settings.

Press Home on the remote. On LG TVs running webOS 22, choose Apps. On the documented webOS 5.0 path, choose LG Content Store. Labels and menus vary by software version. LG’s instructions for your TV generation can confirm the menu path.

Open the search function, enter Acorn TV, and select the app if it appears in the results.

Select Install. When installation finishes, select Launch. You can also open the installed app from the TV’s app launcher.
What to do if Acorn TV is not listed
Do not assume the app is supported just because the TV is an LG Smart TV. LG says supported apps can differ by TV model and region of purchase. Search the LG Content Store using the specific TV model and the correct region, and check the app’s supported webOS version. LG’s support page, updated June 5, 2025, describes checking supported apps for a particular model and region: LG TV: Check out the LG Content Store to see what apps are available for your Smart TV.

Confirm the location setting. Set LG Services Country to your actual country. LG notes that choosing “Other” or another country can prevent app installation.

Check your LG account. Sign in if the TV requests an account for installing or using apps.

Check the connection. Make sure the TV is connected to the internet over Wi-Fi or Ethernet.

Free storage if needed. Remove unused apps if the TV does not have enough space to install another one.

Accept required user agreements. Some app features may not work until applicable agreements are accepted.

Verify the model and webOS version. If the store still does not show Acorn TV, check LG’s app catalogue for your specific model and region rather than relying on a general compatibility claim.

Settings paths differ between webOS versions. If you need help changing the country, checking the model, or finding agreements, use the LG support instructions for your TV generation.

There is no universal compatibility list established here for all LG models, webOS versions, and regions. The practical check is whether Acorn TV appears in the LG Content Store for your exact TV and location. If it does, install it through the store; if it does not, confirm the region, model, and software details before concluding that the app is supported.
