Notebookcheck’s published chart puts Apple’s A17 Pro slightly ahead of Google’s Tensor G6 in multi-core results and farther ahead in single-core results—but those figures are not a controlled, same-phone comparison. The available numbers suggest a CPU advantage for A17 Pro in that chart, not a verdict on graphics, battery life, heat, AI, or overall phone speed. Google lists Tensor G6 in the Pixel 11 family, including Pixel 11 Pro.
Which phones use Tensor G6?
Google’s Pixel phone hardware tech specs lists Tensor G6 as the processor in the Pixel 11 family, including Pixel 11 Pro. The available official device information establishes that association; the comparison figures below come from benchmark publishers and a Geekbench submission, not manufacturer performance claims.
A17 Pro vs Tensor G6: specifications and chart scores
Notebookcheck lists the following CPU configurations and Geekbench values. Its chart does not establish that the results came from identical phone models, software builds, or test conditions, so read the scores as chart figures rather than a matched head-to-head test.
| Chip | CPU configuration listed by Notebookcheck | Single-core chart score | Multi-core chart score |
|---|---|---|---|
| Apple A17 Pro | 6 cores, 2.11–3.78 GHz | 2,940 | 7,299 |
| Google Tensor G6 | 7 cores, 2.65–4.11 GHz | 2,687 | 7,220 |
In those chart values, A17 Pro leads by 253 points in single-core and 79 points in multi-core. The single-core gap is the clearer separation; the multi-core scores are much closer. Core counts and frequency ranges are Notebookcheck listings, not independently verified measurements under identical conditions. See Notebookcheck’s Tensor G6 benchmarks and specifications.
#1 Best Overall
- This phone is unlocked and compatible with any carrier of choice on GSM and CDMA networks (e.g. AT&T, T-Mobile, Sprint, Verizon, US Cellular, Cricket, Metro, Tracfone, Mint Mobile, etc.).
- Please check with your carrier to verify compatibility.
- When you receive the phone, insert a SIM card from a compatible carrier. Then, turn it on, connect to Wi-Fi, and follow the on screen prompts to activate service.
- The device does not come with headphones or a SIM card. It does include a generic (Mfi certified) charger and charging cable.
Why other Tensor G6 scores differ
Published Geekbench 6 results for Pixel 11 devices vary, which is a reminder to keep individual submissions, review results, and chart values distinct rather than combining them into one average.
- One Pixel 11 Pro submission: Geekbench Browser records a Geekbench 6.7.1 result dated August 12, 2026, with 2,559 single-core and 5,909 multi-core. The entry identifies Tensor G6 and Android 17. Geekbench says this legacy Geekbench 6 result can be compared only with other Geekbench 6 results and recommends Geekbench 7 for modern hardware. View the Geekbench Browser submission.
- Pixel 11 review results: Tom’s Guide reports 2,664 single-core and 7,347 multi-core in Geekbench 6, plus 84.28 fps in its 3DMark Wild Life Unlimited test. These are results for a complete Pixel 11 phone in a review, not an A17 Pro-versus-Tensor G6 GPU test. Read Tom’s Guide’s Pixel 11 review.
These different values should not be averaged together: they describe different submissions or review/chart contexts, and the captured results do not provide a shared device, software build, and repeated-sample method for a direct comparison.

What the benchmarks do—and don’t—show
CPU performance
Geekbench CPU scores separate single-core from multi-core performance. The Notebookcheck figures favor A17 Pro in both, with a larger numerical lead in single-core. That observation is limited to the chart’s scores; it does not establish how much faster a phone will feel in a particular app.

Tom’s Guide’s 84.28 fps is a Pixel 11 result in 3DMark Wild Life Unlimited. Without a corresponding A17 Pro result from the same test conditions, it cannot establish which chip has faster graphics.

Sustained speed, thermals, and efficiency
A short benchmark score does not reveal how performance changes under repeated workloads, how much power the phone uses, or how hot it becomes. Those questions require repeated-load and power or thermal measurements on identified devices. The cited figures do not supply a controlled direct comparison for these factors.
On-device AI
CPU scores are not a substitute for an AI comparison. A useful test would run the same task and model through the same execution path on identified devices and software. The available evidence does not include such a matched A17 Pro/Tensor G6 test.

How to judge a fair chip comparison
- Match the benchmark version. Compare Geekbench 6 with Geekbench 6, not Geekbench 7; keep results from other benchmark suites separate.
- Check the device and software. Look for the phone model and operating-system build, and note whether a number is one submission, a review result, or a chart entry.
- Read single-core and multi-core separately. A lead in one does not imply the same lead in the other.
- Use workload-specific results. Graphics need a named GPU test on both devices; sustained performance needs repeated-load and power or thermal measurements; AI needs a matched task and execution path.
Until those conditions are matched, the most defensible conclusion is narrow: Notebookcheck’s chart scores favor A17 Pro in CPU tests, especially single-core, while the multi-core values are close. They do not settle which chip offers the better overall phone experience.
