Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsFix Now →Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesFind Drivers →There is no single price-equivalent replacement for an enterprise image editor SDK: the cost depends on what you are licensing and how you ship it. For a web-focused JavaScript editor with a public per-developer price, Pintura lists its Developer license at €749 per seat per year, excluding VAT. IMG.LY publishes no comparable per-seat tier on its general pricing page; its photo-editor page describes typical deployments as $600–2,000 per month. Those are different licensing units and scopes, not directly comparable quotes. The practical choice is to map your platforms, seats, distribution terms, and required features before comparing total cost.
What should you compare before choosing an image editor SDK?
Start with the product you intend to ship, not the headline price. An SDK that fits a web app may not cover native mobile, and a developer-seat price does not by itself establish the commercial terms for embedding the editor in a customer-facing product.
- Platforms: List every target—web, iOS, Android, or cross-platform—and identify whether each is licensed separately.
- People and usage: Count developer seats and ask whether the quote also depends on application identifiers, editor users, or export volume.
- Embedding and resale: Confirm commercial embedding, OEM distribution, and whether customers can use your product to create additional products that include the SDK.
- Required capabilities: Match file formats, editing tools, export formats, video or headless rendering, and any AI features against the actual product requirements.
- Lifecycle costs: Check update rights, renewal terms, support, SLA, onboarding, and any AI-provider inference charges.
- Data flow: Ask what leaves the device or server in your chosen configuration, and have security and legal teams validate vendor statements.
Neither vendor’s public information establishes feature parity or the total cost for a particular application. Request quotes against the same platform list, usage assumptions, team size, and distribution model.
How do Pintura and IMG.LY differ on public pricing?
The figures below are the vendors’ published terms as accessed on September 29, 2026. Pintura lists annual per-seat prices; IMG.LY describes a typical monthly deployment range for its photo editor. The currency, billing unit, product scope, and licensing basis differ, so the table is a starting point for questions—not a price ranking.

- Read Before You Buy — No Video Output: These adapters support charging and USB 2.0 data transfer, but cannot transmit video signals. Except for standard USB webcams (which use USB data only), they are not compatible with HDMI/DisplayPort cables, video-capable USB-C hubs, or docking stations with video output.
- Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
- Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.

When is Pintura the better price fit?
Pintura is the clearest public-price option in this comparison if the requirement is a JavaScript image editor and the intended deployment fits its Developer license. Its public prices make an initial seat-based budget possible, but they do not settle whether the license covers the way your product is distributed.
Check the seat, update, and distribution terms
Pintura’s pricing page describes the Developer license as including unlimited edits and priority support. It also describes a perpetual right to keep using the latest version available during the subscription term after the subscription expires; updates, support, and private npm access then cease. Confirm the exact contract language and what happens to your build and package access before relying on that distinction for a long-lived application.

Pintura says OEM licensing may be required if your customers use your product to create additional products that incorporate Pintura. That is a material distinction for platforms, white-label tools, and products whose users produce derivative apps or sites. Ask Pintura to confirm in writing whether your use is covered rather than treating the listed per-seat price as a complete commercial-embedding quote.
Account for the video extension separately
If you need video editing as well as image editing, Pintura lists the Developer tier with its Video Editor Extension at €1,149 per seat per year excluding VAT. Compare it only with an alternative quote that includes the same video scope, seats, support, and distribution rights; the two listed Pintura amounts alone do not establish that another SDK includes equivalent functionality.
When is IMG.LY a better fit despite the higher-looking range?
IMG.LY may be a closer functional fit when the product needs a photo editor spanning web and mobile targets. Its product page lists JavaScript, React, Angular, Vue, Svelte, Next.js, iOS, Android, React Native, and Flutter. Its general pricing page says platforms are licensed separately and that React Native or Flutter deployments require a license for each target platform. A cross-platform app therefore needs a platform-by-platform quote, not an assumption that one framework license covers every shipped target.

Validate the file and export workflow
IMG.LY says its photo editor imports PNG, JPEG, and TGA, and exports PNG, JPEG, TGA, and print-ready PDF. Confirm that these formats and its editing components cover your workflow, including any requirements not listed on the product page. The cited product information does not establish that every feature is available on every platform or under every configuration.
Evaluate AI and data-flow requirements
IMG.LY says its AI background removal runs in-browser and that AI plugins are available today for web, while native mobile AI features are on its roadmap. Its pricing page says generative-model usage may incur separate provider charges. If AI is a requirement, clarify platform availability, included components, the chosen provider, and recurring inference costs in the quote.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:

This is a vendor statement, not an independent security assessment. Verify data behavior for the exact build and configuration with your security and legal reviewers. For enterprise deployments, IMG.LY describes white-label customization and options including custom terms, SLAs, dedicated onboarding, and air-gapped deployments with server communication disabled; availability and cost are quote-specific. How to make the total-cost comparison fair
- Write a deployment inventory. Name each app and platform, including web, iOS, Android, React Native, or Flutter targets. Include separate platform licenses where the vendor requires them.
- Define the team and usage. State developer seats and, if applicable, expected editor users and exports. Ask each vendor which quantities affect price and which are unlimited.
- Specify commercial distribution. Describe whether the SDK is embedded in a commercial application, white-labeled, distributed to customers, or used to make derivative products. Ask whether OEM terms apply.
- Match scope line by line. List formats, editing components, video or headless requirements, AI features, and export needs. Exclude items you do not need, and call out anything the public product pages do not establish.
- Price the full term. Include support, SLA, onboarding, update access, renewal, private package access, and third-party AI usage where relevant. Distinguish recurring charges from one-time or quote-specific items.
- Get written quotes and test the trial. Ask each vendor to confirm the same assumptions in writing. Use trial access to validate integration and workflow, but do not treat a trial as confirmation of production licensing or feature parity.

Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone.Could ScreenshotNeo replace an image editor SDK?
No. ScreenshotNeo is a website screenshot API and MCP server, not an embedded image editor SDK. It does not replace Pintura or IMG.LY for in-app image editing. If your actual need is to capture web pages as images or PDFs—for documentation, monitoring, or an AI workflow—it is an alternative to consider first for that separate job. ScreenshotNeo says it removes cookie and consent banners, newsletter popups, and chat widgets before capture; only clean shots are billed, with bot checks, blank pages, timeouts, failed loads, and cache hits costing nothing. Responses identify the page verdict and billing status in headers. It also offers an MCP server for AI agents. Learn more at ScreenshotNeo.
