There is no single streaming service that carries every NFL game. For the 2026 U.S. season, local Sunday afternoon games air on CBS and FOX, while national and exclusive games are split across services and networks. Start with the specific games you want, check where they are scheduled in your market, and then choose a service—or combination—that covers those windows.
Which service carries each NFL game window?
The NFL’s current viewing guide lists these main U.S. game windows for 2026. Matchups, flex scheduling, local availability, and rights restrictions can affect where a particular game appears, so confirm the listing for the game you plan to watch.
| Game window | Where to start | What to know |
|---|---|---|
| Sunday afternoon, local games | CBS or FOX through an antenna, TV provider, or a streaming service carrying the local station | Which game is shown depends on your local market and the schedule. Paramount+ may stream local CBS games, according to a 2026 schedule-oriented guide; check the current matchup and service terms. |
| Sunday Night Football | NBC or Peacock | Availability is subject to the matchup and local listing. |
| Monday Night Football | ESPN or ABC through a TV provider or supported service | Access depends on the provider and plan. |
| Thursday Night Football and Black Friday | Prime Video | The NFL lists these windows on Prime Video; check the current schedule. |
| Select games | NFL Network | The league lists select international and Saturday games. Confirm the specific game and provider. |
| Week 1 game in São Paulo | YouTube | The NFL lists this as a special 2026 viewing window. |
| Christmas Day games | Netflix | The NFL lists these as exclusive games for 2026. |
The NFL’s Ways to Watch page also lists over-the-air broadcasts and providers such as YouTube TV, DirecTV, Xfinity, Spectrum, Hulu, Dish, Sling, Fios, Fubo, and Optimum. A provider’s presence on that list does not mean it carries every game: connecting an account determines availability, and flexible game windows can change.
How can you watch NFL games without cable?
Use an antenna for local broadcast games
An over-the-air HDTV antenna can receive local CBS and FOX broadcasts, and may be the simplest option if your goal is local Sunday afternoon games. Reception depends on your address, antenna placement, and which stations reach your area; check local station coverage before buying. An antenna will not provide out-of-market games or internet-only exclusives such as the games assigned to Prime Video or Netflix.

Use a live-TV streaming service for broadcast and cable channels
A live-TV streaming plan can replace a traditional TV subscription when it carries the channels you need in your area. YouTube TV’s main plan or Sports plan carries local and national NFL broadcasts shown in the area on CBS, FOX, NBC, ESPN, and NFL Network, according to Google’s 2026 NFL viewing guidance. Check the channel lineup and local availability before subscribing; the package does not itself include every exclusive streaming game.
Subscribe only to services that carry games you want
If you only follow one or two windows, an individual service may be enough: for example, Prime Video for Thursday Night Football, or Peacock for Sunday Night Football. For ESPN/ABC or local station games, confirm that the streaming option you choose carries the relevant channel and the game in your market. Special games may require a different service from your usual Sunday plan.

How do you watch out-of-market Sunday afternoon games?
NFL Sunday Ticket is the option for regular-season Sunday afternoon CBS and FOX games that are outside your local market. It is sold as an add-on to YouTube TV or as a standalone YouTube Primetime Channel, so the standalone option does not require a YouTube TV plan.
Sunday Ticket does not include local games, nationally televised games, or postseason games. It is therefore not an all-games package: viewers may still need a local broadcast or live-TV service for games shown in their market, and the relevant service for national or exclusive matchups. See Google’s 2026 explanation of Sunday Ticket for current packaging details.

What does NFL+ let you watch live?
NFL+ is U.S.-only. During the regular season and postseason, it offers live local and primetime games on phones and tablets—not live out-of-market Sunday afternoon games. NFL Support states: “Out-of-market Sunday afternoon games are not available live on NFL+ and require NFL Sunday Ticket.” The league also says ordinary connected-TV or desktop viewing through NFL.com or NFL apps may require a supported cable or streaming-provider login; mobile NFL+ access should not be mistaken for unrestricted live TV access.
There are separate NFL+ benefits. The league’s live-games article, updated July 27, 2025, describes out-of-market preseason games live across supported devices and live audio for every game. NFL+ Premium adds RedZone and full and condensed replays of every game across supported devices. As service terms can change by season, check the current plan and device rules before subscribing.
Choose the smallest combination that covers your games
- Make a short list of the games or windows you care about. Separate local Sunday afternoon games, out-of-market Sunday afternoons, national windows, and special exclusive games.
- Check the current NFL schedule and local listing. Use the NFL’s Ways to Watch page and verify the specific matchup. Flex scheduling and local-market assignments can change what is available.
- Check the device you plan to use. Confirm that live viewing works on your TV, desktop, phone, or tablet. NFL+’s live regular-season and postseason games are phone-and-tablet access, while its replays have broader supported-device availability.
- Compare only the services needed to fill the gaps. If an antenna covers your local CBS/FOX games, you may not need a live-TV plan for those games. Add a service for the windows or out-of-market games you cannot otherwise receive.
- Check current prices and terms before paying. The relevant total depends on your existing subscriptions, selected plans, location, and any add-ons; current prices are not established here. Verify blackout rules and device support on each service’s current plan page.
Common cord-cutting mistakes to avoid
- Assuming one subscription includes every game. Rights are divided by window and platform, and even a live-TV plan’s channel lineup does not necessarily include internet-only exclusives.
- Buying Sunday Ticket for all NFL games. It covers only out-of-market Sunday afternoon regular-season CBS and FOX games, not local, national, or postseason games.
- Expecting NFL+ to stream on every screen. Live local and primetime regular-season and postseason games are limited to phones and tablets; connected-TV or desktop access can require a provider login.
- Assuming an antenna shows every local game. Reception and station availability vary by address, and an antenna does not unlock out-of-market or streaming-exclusive games.
- Relying on an old channel list. Game assignments and service terms can change. Check the current listing for the matchup and your location.
Is this guide for viewers outside the United States?
No. The options above describe U.S. viewing. The NFL distinguishes U.S. NFL+ access from international NFL Game Pass access through DAZN; availability and rights vary by country, so U.S. service guidance should not be assumed to apply abroad.
