The OnePlus 15R has the larger display, a higher listed refresh rate and a higher stated battery capacity. The Samsung Galaxy A57 5G counters with a three-camera rear system and Samsung India’s commitment to up to six OS upgrades. The available figures are manufacturer specifications—not proof of better real-world speed, battery life or photos. A definitive price difference also depends on current prices for matching configurations in the same country.

Display: the OnePlus has the larger panel and higher refresh ceiling
OnePlus lists a 6.83-inch display with 2800 × 1272 resolution, adaptive refresh rates up to 165Hz and 1,800 nits HBM. Those figures establish the 15R’s listed screen size and refresh ceiling; they do not, by themselves, prove better color, brightness in every condition or overall display quality. The Samsung sources used here do not provide a matching A57 display specification, so a full numerical display comparison is not established.
Performance and storage: compare configurations, not assumptions
OnePlus lists a Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 processor and 12GB LPDDR5X Ultra memory. Its listed storage options are 256GB and 512GB UFS 4.1, each paired with 12GB RAM. The Samsung India page covers a 12GB/256GB model, but the available Samsung source excerpt does not establish a directly comparable chipset and memory row. Without matching specifications or controlled tests, these figures do not support a performance ranking.

For a value comparison, match storage tiers first: the 15R’s 256GB configuration is the closest listed capacity to the cited A57 variant. Check the exact regional model before buying, since the cited Samsung details are for India and do not establish every market’s configuration.
Battery and charging: capacity is not battery life
OnePlus lists a 7,400 mAh typical battery capacity (27.98 Wh) and 55W SUPERVOOC charging on its US specification page. Samsung India lists a 5,000 mAh typical capacity for the Galaxy A57. The larger stated capacity on the 15R is a specification difference, not a measured endurance result: screen settings, network conditions, software and use affect how long either phone lasts. No independent head-to-head battery test is established here.

Charging speeds and included power adapters can vary by region. Confirm the package contents and local charging specifications for the precise version being considered.
Rear cameras: more lenses do not establish better photos
The 15R lists a 50MP main camera with optical image stabilization (OIS) and an 8MP ultrawide. Samsung India lists a 50MP wide, 12MP ultrawide and 5MP macro arrangement. That gives the A57 an additional listed rear-camera type, but megapixel counts and camera quantity do not determine image quality. The available sources do not establish independent, controlled photo comparisons between the phones.

Software support: Samsung states up to six OS upgrades
Samsung India says the Galaxy A57 supports up to six OS upgrades. This is a regional product-page commitment; check the terms applicable to the exact model and market before treating it as universal. OnePlus lists OxygenOS 16 based on Android 16 for the 15R, but the cited OnePlus specification page does not establish a comparable upgrade-duration commitment.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone.Price difference: the available figures are not a current, like-for-like comparison
Samsung Newsroom US announced a $549.99 starting price for the unlocked Galaxy A57 5G, with US availability beginning April 9, 2026. That is a US launch price, not confirmation of the phone’s current October 2026 price or its price in another country. The OnePlus US specifications page does not establish a current price, so these sources cannot show which phone currently costs less.

Availability is market-specific: Samsung’s Japan announcement scheduled reservations for April 16, 2026 and sales for April 23, 2026. Do not use that schedule or the US launch figure as a substitute for local pricing. Quick Recap
Which phone should you choose?
- Consider the OnePlus 15R if its larger listed display, up-to-165Hz refresh ceiling, 7,400 mAh stated capacity or 512GB storage option best fit your priorities. These are specification advantages, not verified guarantees of superior screen quality or endurance.
- Consider the Galaxy A57 5G if you value its listed macro camera alongside wide and ultrawide cameras, or Samsung India’s stated support for up to six OS upgrades. Confirm local model details and support terms.
- Decide on price only after checking locally. The supplied price evidence is a US Samsung launch figure, while a comparable current OnePlus price is not established. Compare current offers for the same market and storage tier.
