There is no single arcade-stick setup that applies to every Psikyo shoot-’em-up. The right steps depend on the specific game, its release or port, and the platform and operating system you are using. Identify those first; then confirm the system sees the stick before configuring the game’s controls.
Identify the game and platform first
Before connecting anything, note the exact Psikyo title and release—for example, the original arcade version or a particular console or PC port—and the system you will play it on. Check that release’s manual or store documentation for supported controllers and input settings. The available documentation here does not establish universal Psikyo compatibility or a universal button map, so do not assume that instructions for one port apply to another.
Check the arcade stick’s manufacturer specifications against both the platform and, where relevant, its operating system. A USB connector alone does not establish that a stick works with a particular console or game.
Connect the stick and test it at the system level
- Connect the stick following its manufacturer’s instructions. Use the connection method and any platform-specific steps documented for that model.
- On a computer, open the operating system’s controller or game-controller settings and check whether the stick appears and responds. PXN’s PXN-0082 English manual describes checking its hardware through computer controller settings; that is a hardware check, not proof of compatibility with a Psikyo title.
- Test the stick’s directions and buttons in the system’s input test, if available. If the system does not detect the device or its inputs, address the connection, compatibility, or hardware issue before changing game settings.
Set controls in the selected game
Launch the exact release and look for its controller, input, or button-assignment options. Consult that release’s manual if the menu is unclear. If the game allows remapping, assign movement and the game’s fire action there; configure any additional actions only if that release provides them and you want to use them.

No Psikyo-specific menu path or button assignments are established here. Do not rely on a mapping from another game: controller menus and remapping can vary by title and port. If the game has no remapping option, use platform-level remapping only when documentation for your platform and that release explains how it works.
Verify the setup before a run
Use a menu, training mode, or another low-risk setting to check each direction and every assigned button. Confirm that the game responds to the inputs you intended, rather than relying only on the system-level test; a device can work at the system level without the game accepting it as configured.

Troubleshoot by isolating where input stops
- The system does not see the stick: Recheck the manufacturer’s connection instructions and the stick’s compatibility with the platform and operating system. Test the device in the system’s controller settings before troubleshooting the game.
- The system sees it, but the game does not: Check the selected release’s controller support and instructions. Do not assume another Psikyo port—or an unrelated game—has the same support.
- The game responds, but buttons are wrong: Review its own assignment options. If remapping is unavailable, check whether the platform documents a remapping method for this exact game and release.
