In June 2008, Colo4Dallas reported buying its existing data center at 3000 Irving Boulevard and the adjacent 3004 Irving Boulevard, while also leasing 40,000 square feet at a nearby Level 3 facility. The company said the moves increased its total data-center space from 28,000 to 106,000 square feet. These are historical expansion figures, not specifications for the properties today.
What Colo4Dallas added in June 2008
Rich Miller’s June 30, 2008, DataCenterKnowledge report described three parts of the expansion:
- Colo4Dallas purchased the facility it then occupied at 3000 Irving Boulevard in Dallas.
- It purchased the adjacent 3004 Irving Boulevard for expansion.
- In May 2008, it had leased 40,000 square feet of data-center space in a nearby Level 3 facility.
The report said the company had occupied 3000 Irving since 2000 and had filled about 90 percent of its space there. A contemporaneous DatacenterDynamics report dated June 29, 2008 also described the purchase and expansion.
How much space the expansion represented
DataCenterKnowledge reported that Colo4Dallas’s total data-center space rose from 28,000 to 106,000 square feet. That total reflects the expansion described in the 2008 coverage; it is not a statement of current capacity at either Irving Boulevard address.

Why the company said it needed more capacity
The expansion addressed more than floor space. Paul VanMeter, then president of Colo4Dallas, said the original 3000 Irving site was nearing full use by space while using about half of its power capacity. As quoted in the 2008 article, he wrote: “I think it is also important to note that as we reach 100% capacity of 3000 Irving Blvd we are only at 50% capacity of power.”
VanMeter contrasted that situation with facilities that have room but insufficient power to fill cabinets, and said he expected existing customers to need more power in their current cabinets over time. Those figures and expectations are his statements as reported in 2008, not independently verified measurements of the site today.

What was planned for 3004 Irving
Colo4Dallas expected to spend about $8 million equipping 3004 Irving, according to the DataCenterKnowledge report, which attributed the estimate to VanMeter’s comments to the Dallas Business Journal. The planned work included raised floors, high-density power capacity, environmental controls, and security controls. The figure was an announced expected investment, not a verified final cost.
DatacenterDynamics reported planned initial power of 7.5 MW for the connected 3004 Irving facility, with room for power growth. This was a reported plan in 2008, not a current power rating.

What later company history does—and does not—establish
TierPoint’s 2016 company announcement traces its roots to Dallas and identifies Colo4Dallas as its first data-center acquisition in 2010. It describes the original facility as 68,000 square feet, built in 2000, and among the area’s first to provide 2N power. That later account provides corporate-history context, but it does not establish current ownership or operating status for both 3000 and 3004 Irving Boulevard.
A colo.exchange directory listing accessed October 5, 2026 includes Colo4Dallas at 3000 Irving Boulevard. A directory entry alone does not establish who owns or operates that property now, nor the status of 3004 Irving.
