Which phone has the better display?
Redmi Note 17 5G: sharper AMOLED
The Redmi’s 1080 × 2396 AMOLED panel has a higher stated resolution and uses OLED technology, giving it the stronger display specifications for shoppers who value sharpness and panel type. Xiaomi lists a peak brightness of 1,800 nits.
realme P4R: higher refresh-rate figure
The P4R is listed with a 144 Hz refresh rate, compared with up to 120 Hz on the Redmi. Its 720 × 1570 LCD has fewer pixels, however. Peak brightness figures—1,200 nits for the P4R in reporting and 1,800 nits on Xiaomi’s specification page—may have been measured using different methods, so they do not establish a directly comparable real-world brightness result.

Do the processors establish a performance winner?
No definitive performance winner follows from the listed chipset names alone. The P4R is reported with a MediaTek Dimensity 6300, while Xiaomi specifies a Snapdragon 4 Gen 4 for the Redmi. These shared capacity and charging-rate figures do not establish equal battery life or charging time. How do the cameras compare?
Both models have a listed 50 MP main camera and 8 MP front camera. Xiaomi additionally specifies f/1.8 for the rear camera, f/2.0 for the front camera, and 1080p video recording at 30 fps on both front and rear cameras. Which one should you buy?
