The realme P4x 5G is the stronger fit if you prioritize a 144Hz screen, faster listed storage and a lower price in the available India price snapshot. Xiaomi’s REDMI Note 17 5G instead offers a larger OLED display, a higher stated battery capacity and a published software-support commitment. Neither is an automatic winner: compare the exact RAM and storage variant at checkout, and weigh screen type and support against price and performance evidence.

Which phone has the better display?
Choose the REDMI if you want the larger panel and OLED’s display technology. Xiaomi lists a 6.99-inch OLED screen at up to 120Hz. The realme has a smaller 6.72-inch LCD but lists a higher 144Hz refresh rate. That higher figure can make supported motion look smoother, but refresh rate alone does not establish brightness, color accuracy or sustained performance.

In short, this is a screen-size and panel-type choice versus a higher listed refresh rate—not a simple ranking by the largest number.
Performance: what the specs and benchmark figures show
The published chipset specifications favor the realme on paper: its product page names the Dimensity 7400 Ultra, while Xiaomi lists the Snapdragon 4 Gen 4. The comparison page lists maximum CPU frequencies of 2.6GHz and 2.3GHz, respectively, but clock speed alone cannot establish how a phone performs in everyday use.
Benchmark evidence is not consistent enough for a definitive score-based verdict. 91mobiles’ comparison page, inspected on October 5, 2026, shows AnTuTu results of 974,831 for the realme and 622,466 for the Xiaomi. Realme’s own product page advertises 780,000+ for the P4x. Those figures do not align; the available material does not reconcile test version, configuration or methodology. Treat them as attributed claims rather than a verified apples-to-apples result.
The storage specification points in the same paper-spec direction: the comparison page lists UFS 3.1 for realme and UFS 2.2 for Xiaomi. That difference is worth considering, but it does not by itself prove a particular real-world speed advantage in every task.

Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsFix Now →Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesFind Drivers →Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsFree Scan →Battery capacity, charging and endurance
Xiaomi lists an 8,000mAh typical battery, compared with 7,000mAh on realme’s product page. Both phones are listed with 45W wired charging. Xiaomi additionally lists 22.5W wired reverse charging.
Capacity is not the same as measured endurance. In the PCMark battery results published on the 91mobiles comparison page, the P4x recorded 17 hours 38 minutes and the REDMI Note 17 5G recorded 16 hours 14 minutes. That test result favors realme despite Xiaomi’s higher stated capacity; test conditions can affect results, so it is not a promise of anyone’s day-to-day battery life.
Xiaomi says the REDMI can last “up to 3+ days” on a charge with light use, based on Xiaomi’s internal lab testing, and cautions that actual results vary. Treat that as a qualified manufacturer estimate, not a general guarantee.
Camera specifications: equal megapixels, unknown image-quality winner
Both phones are listed with a 50MP main rear camera and an 8MP front camera. Those matching megapixel counts do not establish that their photos or videos look alike, or which phone produces better results. The available specifications do not provide a controlled direct camera comparison, so choose based on other verified priorities unless you can assess sample images from the exact models.

Software support and included accessories
Xiaomi India states that the REDMI Note 17 5G will receive four years of OS upgrades and six years of security updates. A comparable official support-duration commitment for the P4x was not established from the inspected realme product page, so the available information supports a stated promise for Xiaomi but not a complete head-to-head support ranking.
Xiaomi says the box includes a 45W charger, a case and a factory-applied screen protector. It also notes that package contents may vary by region and packaging version; confirm what is included with the specific India-market listing.
Price difference in India: check the variant before buying
At the time the 91mobiles comparison page was inspected on October 5, 2026, it displayed Amazon India reference prices of ₹21,939 for the realme P4x and ₹27,999 for the REDMI Note 17 5G—a snapshot gap of ₹6,060 in favor of realme. These are volatile retailer references, not guaranteed checkout prices or official launch prices.
There is also a configuration detail to watch: 91mobiles lists 128GB storage for both phones, while realme’s official page promotes a 256GB P4x configuration. Xiaomi’s official specification page lists 128GB storage with 6GB or 8GB RAM. Before comparing prices, check that each listing matches the RAM and storage you want, as well as the seller and any offer conditions.
Quick Recap
Which one should you buy?
- Choose the realme P4x 5G if you prefer a 144Hz display, want the faster listed UFS storage specification, or find it cheaper for the same memory configuration. Keep in mind that its display is LCD and the published benchmark results do not provide a reconciled head-to-head.
- Choose the REDMI Note 17 5G if a larger OLED screen, higher stated battery capacity, Xiaomi’s published update commitment or the listed reverse-charging feature matters more to you. Its lower listed refresh rate is 120Hz.
- Compare again at checkout if price is decisive: the quoted Amazon India prices are a dated snapshot, and the storage variants shown by different pages do not match.
Product prices and availability are accurate as of the date/time indicated and are subject to change. Any price and availability information displayed on Amazon at the time of purchase will apply.
