OpenAI announced on October 8, 2025, that ChatGPT Go was expanding to 16 additional countries. A contemporaneous report identified the countries as Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Brunei Darussalam, Cambodia, Laos, Malaysia, Maldives, Myanmar, Nepal, Pakistan, the Philippines, Sri Lanka, Thailand, Timor-Leste, and Vietnam. OpenAI’s announcement confirmed the number of countries but did not list their names.
Which countries can use ChatGPT Go?
The 16 countries named in contemporaneous reporting about the October 2025 expansion were:
- Afghanistan
- Bangladesh
- Bhutan
- Brunei Darussalam
- Cambodia
- Laos
- Malaysia
- Maldives
- Myanmar
- Nepal
- Pakistan
- The Philippines
- Sri Lanka
- Thailand
- Timor-Leste
- Vietnam
The list is attributed to contemporaneous reporting; OpenAI’s October 8, 2025 release note said the plan was available in 16 additional countries without naming them. OpenAI’s current Help Center says ChatGPT Go is available in every country where ChatGPT is supported, so check current availability for your location rather than relying only on the expansion list.
What is ChatGPT Go?
ChatGPT Go is a paid monthly plan that offers more access to ChatGPT features than the Free plan. In its October 2025 announcement, OpenAI described more messages, larger file uploads, expanded image generation, access to advanced data analysis, and longer memory as the added benefits.

OpenAI’s current Help Center also lists higher usage limits for eligible tools, more image generation and file uploads, more advanced data analysis, longer memory, and access to projects, tasks, custom GPTs, and Library. Feature availability and storage limits apply. Usage is also subject to plan limits, abuse guardrails, and temporary restrictions during periods of high demand. API usage is billed separately.
How much does ChatGPT Go cost in each country?
There is no single price for all 16 countries. OpenAI’s January 16, 2026 worldwide announcement listed the US price as $8 per month and noted that Go pricing is localized in some markets. That US figure should not be treated as the price in the newly added countries. OpenAI’s Help Center says purchases are billed in USD except in a limited set of local-currency markets, and that prices may change.
