What is actually cracking on an iPhone X?
The phrase “camera lens” can refer to the external glass cover over the rear cameras or to components inside the camera module. A visible crack alone does not show that the camera module has failed. iFixit lists a replacement external lens cover for iPhone X models A1865, A1901, and A1902, and documents a repair for broken rear camera glass. That repair documentation establishes that external-cover replacement is an option; it does not establish how common cracking is or what causes it. The available evidence does not verify the claim that “many” iPhone X devices are affected, nor does it identify a specific cause.
Why is my iPhone X camera lens cracking?
The cause is not established. Available sources do not support attributing cracks to a case, magnets, temperature changes, pressure, or a manufacturing defect. Avoid treating any of those explanations as confirmed without a diagnosis of your phone.

Can you replace just the iPhone X camera lens glass?
Potentially, if inspection confirms that the damage is limited to the external cover. iFixit documents a cover-glass repair, but also describes the work as difficult because of the spot-welded bezel. Following a guide does not guarantee a safe or successful repair on every damaged phone; fragments or contamination can also pose a risk to the camera.

Will Apple repair a cracked iPhone X camera lens?

Apple’s general limited-warranty guidance says the one-year warranty covers manufacturing issues and does not cover accidental damage. Apple states: “Our warranty doesn’t cover accidental damage or batteries that wear down from normal use.” Whether a particular crack is covered, and what it will cost to repair, depends on the device, any applicable plan, region, consumer-law rights, and inspection. Check your coverage rather than assuming the general guidance determines your case.
