Samsung’s Galaxy Z TriFold did not arrive in the U.S. this month: Samsung announced U.S. availability beginning January 30, 2026, at a starting price of $2,899 for the 512GB Crafted Black model. The $2,450 figure in the original headline is not Samsung’s published U.S. launch price. Current stock and selling prices are not established here.
When did the Galaxy Z TriFold launch?
Samsung announced the phone in December 2025. Its initial rollout plan named South Korea for December 12, 2025, followed by China, Taiwan, Singapore, the UAE and the United States. Samsung later specified that U.S. availability would begin January 30, 2026, through Samsung Experience Stores and Samsung.com. These announcements give planned launch dates, not confirmation of current inventory in each market. Samsung’s U.S. launch announcement and its global product announcement provide the dates.
What was the U.S. price?
Samsung announced a U.S. starting price of $2,899 for the Crafted Black configuration with 512GB of storage when availability began January 30, 2026. That is the official U.S. launch price, not a current-price quote. The evidence does not establish where the $2,450 headline figure originated, nor current Samsung, retailer or resale pricing.
What is the Galaxy Z TriFold?
It is a Samsung smartphone with a screen that folds twice, opening into a tablet-like workspace. Samsung lists a 10.0-inch QXGA+ Dynamic AMOLED 2X main display (2160 × 1584) and a 6.5-inch FHD+ cover display (2520 × 1080); both support an adaptive refresh rate of up to 120Hz. Samsung’s measurement notes account for rounded corners, giving the main display a 9.9-inch measurement by that method. The device weighs 309g. Samsung’s specification table has the full published details.

What does Samsung say about durability and launch offers?
Samsung says the main display underwent a 200,000-cycle multi-folding test, which the company equates to folding around 100 times a day for five years. This is Samsung’s test claim, not independent evidence that every device will withstand five years of everyday use. Samsung also announced a six-month Google AI Pro trial with Gemini features and 2TB of cloud storage, plus a one-time 50% display-repair discount. Those were launch offers; their current availability and terms are not established.
