To change commentary language in EA SPORTS FC 27, open Game Settings > Audio, find Commentary Language under the section for your mode, and choose a language. If the game asks to download commentary audio files, accept the download. Commentary is English by default, according to EA Help.
How to change the commentary language in EA FC 27
- Return to the main menu.
- Open Game Settings.
- Select the Audio tab.
- Find Commentary Language in the audio settings for the mode you play. FC 27 organizes options into sections including 11-A-Side Audio and Rush Audio.
- Choose the language you want. If prompted, select the option to download its commentary audio files and let the download finish.
EA’s FC 27 accessibility resources describe audio settings by mode. If you play more than one mode, check the relevant section for each rather than assuming one selection controls every mode.
Why a language may need a separate download
Whether extra commentary files are required depends on the platform and its selected language. EA’s FC 27 product information lists these conditions:
| Platform | When EA says a separate download is required |
|---|---|
| PC — EA app | For commentary languages other than English and the selected EA app language. |
| PC — Steam | For commentary languages other than English and the selected Steam client language. |
| PC — Epic | For commentary languages other than English and the selected Epic client language. |
| PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4 | For commentary languages other than English and French. |
| Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S | For commentary languages other than English and the console-settings language. |
| Nintendo Switch | For text and audio commentary languages other than English and French. |
These are download rules, not a guarantee that every language is offered for every region or edition. Availability depends on what is shown in the game for your platform and installed files. Changing the console or store-client language is not listed as a prerequisite for choosing commentary in the game; it affects which audio may need a separate download.

If the language is missing or the download fails
- Check the mode section: look under the audio settings for the mode you are playing, such as 11-A-Side or Rush.
- Check for a download prompt: a language may require commentary files that are not already installed. Follow the in-game prompt if it appears.
- Update the game: confirm FC 27 and its language files are up to date before trying again.
- For Nintendo Switch-family systems: Nintendo has reported an issue with commentary packs for languages other than English or French and advised installing the software update once available. Its notice does not establish whether that update is currently available, so check for a game update rather than assuming the issue has been fixed. See Nintendo Support’s FC 27 match audio commentary notice.
