Philips describes Series 9000 rotary heads as capturing hairs growing in different directions. For the S9226/88 page, it claims skin-level closeness on a 5-day beard. Treat that as Philips’ claim about the model, not a guarantee or a direct comparison with Braun.

The cited independent editorial evidence is also limited in scope: T3’s July 24, 2026 guide ranks Braun Series 9 Pro+ first overall, while its review reports observations about its reviewed model. This does not establish that Braun is best for every user or that it beats the Philips in a controlled comparison.
Match the shaver to your routine
How many days of growth you leave
If you shave daily, several-days-old beard claims may matter less than how the shaver feels and performs in your normal routine. If you often wait between shaves, the manufacturers’ stated beard-length positioning gives you a reason to compare these models, but it is not a substitute for checking independent evidence relevant to your needs.

The Braun and Philips options represent different head styles, not interchangeable versions of the same design. There is no established universal preference in the cited evidence. If you already know which format you prefer, use that as a practical filter; otherwise, compare exact models and the features you will actually use.

Series names alone do not settle what is in the box. A travel case, charging case, or SmartCare center may be part of one bundle and absent from another. Compare the exact SKU’s listed contents with the features you value instead of paying for accessories you will not use.

Replacement-head fit and cleaning-cartridge compatibility are not established across generations here. Match any replacement part to the exact shaver model before purchasing; do not assume that a part for one Series 9 or Series 9000 device fits every member of that family.
Braun’s care guidance for the model family advises detaching the head and cleaning its parts separately under running water. Braun also cautions against using a damaged foil. Follow the instructions for your specific model, and inspect the foil if shaving comfort or performance changes.

Is a premium shaver worth it?
