In the app, you can also download tracks for offline listening, build your own playlists, and get recommendations based on your Nintendo Switch play activity. You do not need a Nintendo Switch console, but you do need a Nintendo Account and an active membership.
What Nintendo Music includes
Nintendo Music is a music service included with Nintendo Switch Online at no additional cost. It is available through a smart-device app and a computer browser, subject to regional availability and compatible-device requirements. Nintendo’s Canadian service page currently describes the browser library as containing over 250 hours of music across more than 130 titles. That is a dated catalog snapshot, not a fixed limit: Nintendo says the collection grows as soundtracks are added.
You need a Nintendo Account and an active Nintendo Switch Online membership, but not a Switch console. The service requires an internet connection for streaming, and mobile data charges may apply. Check Nintendo’s Nintendo Music service page for current regional and device availability.
How to find a game soundtrack or specific song
Start with the game or soundtrack you want, then browse its available music or search using a game, song, series, or character. Nintendo also offers themed collections to help you discover tracks beyond a particular game. The exact browsing and search options can vary with app updates; Nintendo’s current product information emphasizes browsing and recommendations, while screenshot-based browsing was described at launch and should not be assumed to remain available in every version.

Some soundtracks can be hidden by spoiler-prevention settings so that browsing does not reveal music associated with later game moments. If a soundtrack you expect is not visible, check the spoiler setting in the app.
Three ways to listen with playlists
Nintendo-curated playlists
Nintendo provides themed playlists and game-linked collections. For example, its official share page features an “All tracks” playlist for Clubhouse Games: 51 Worldwide Classics. Opening shared playlists does not remove the service’s membership requirement. See the official Clubhouse Games playlist.

Your own playlists
You can create personal playlists from music available in Nintendo Music, which is useful for grouping favorite tracks or assembling a listening sequence around a mood or game. This is separate from Nintendo’s curated collections and does not mean every Nintendo song is in the catalog.
My Mix and play-history recommendations
Nintendo says My Mix generates a playlist based on your play history, and it also describes recommendations informed by Nintendo Switch Play Activity. My Mix is not available in the web browser; use the app for that feature. Recommendation behavior depends on the play-activity information Nintendo can use for your account.

Download music for offline listening
In the app, tracks can be downloaded for offline listening. Nintendo’s launch announcement explicitly says listeners can stream songs in the app or download them to the app for offline listening. The browser player is not documented as supporting offline downloads, so plan on using the app when you need music without an internet connection. See Nintendo’s October 31, 2024 launch announcement.

Extend selected tracks
Some tracks can be set to play for longer than their original duration. Nintendo Canada lists 5-, 10-, 15-, 30-, or 60-minute options; Nintendo UK describes supported tracks as extendable up to an hour. This is track-dependent, not a guarantee that every song can be extended.
Listen in the car
Nintendo supports Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, including voice control. Nintendo cautions listeners not to use a touchscreen while driving; set up playback and use supported voice controls safely.

- Want downloads or My Mix? Use the smart-device app.
- Prefer a larger screen at a computer? Use the browser player, keeping in mind it lacks My Mix and some app features.
- Do not own a Switch console? You can still use the service if you have a Nintendo Account and active Nintendo Switch Online membership, and the service is available where you live.
