In the UK, the Samsung S99H and S95H are distinct OLED TVs. In What Hi-Fi?’s side-by-side test, the S99H looked clearly brighter and more vibrant. The naming is confusing because Samsung uses S95H for the S99H in some other markets, while the UK also has a separate S95H model.
Are the Samsung S99H and S95H the same TV?
No—not in the UK. The names refer to two different models there. In other markets, the TV called S99H in the UK is sold as the S95H. That means a US S95H listing may not describe the UK S95H reviewed alongside the S99H.
Before comparing specifications or buying, check the country and the complete model code on the product listing. The name alone is not enough to establish that two Samsung TVs are equivalent.
Which one looked better in the UK side-by-side test?
What Hi-Fi? tested the UK S99H and UK S95H next to each other in its test room. The reviewer found the S99H clearly brighter and more vibrant, with a difference that was immediately appreciable. The UK S95H was still described as a very good TV, but it ranked below the S99H in that comparison.

What is known about their panels and screen finish?
S99H panel
What Hi-Fi? identifies the UK S99H as QD-OLED.
UK S95H panel
The reviewer did not confirm the UK S95H’s panel technology. Their impression was that it looked more like a lower-step QD-OLED than a WOLED, but that is not a confirmed specification. Do not treat the UK S95H as a particular panel type unless Samsung’s documentation for its exact model code confirms it.

Matte finish and the S95F resemblance
The reviewer described the two screens’ matte coatings as very similar. The UK S95H also looked remarkably similar to the 2025 S95F, but that visual resemblance does not prove the TVs share a panel or all their specifications.
What about design, connections, and features?
In the UK comparison, the S99H’s metal frame was considered attractive when wall-mounted, though potentially awkward on the supplied feet. The comparison does not establish that the UK S95H is a simpler, cheaper equivalent.

Samsung’s 2 April 2026 US announcement describes a US-market S95H with a FloatLayer metal-bezel design, Art Store access, and Wireless One Connect Ready capability; the optional Wireless One Connect Box is sold separately. Samsung also lists Glare Free technology, 165Hz gaming features, and its NQ4 AI Gen3 processor for the US S95H and S90H lineup. These are US manufacturer claims, not confirmed specifications for the distinct UK S95H. Check the exact regional model before relying on them.
Samsung says the US Art Store offers more than 5,000 works from over 800 artists, while Art Store Streams rotates 30 artworks monthly for free. A subscription is required for the full catalog. Those figures describe Samsung’s US announcement and do not establish a difference between the two UK TVs.

How do Samsung’s US prices and the older S95F fit in?
Samsung’s US launch prices for its 2026 S95H were:
| Screen size | US launch price |
|---|---|
| 55-inch | $2,499.99 |
| 65-inch | $3,399.99 |
| 77-inch | $4,499.99 |
| 83-inch | $6,499.99 |
These are US launch prices from Samsung’s 2 April 2026 announcement, not current street prices or UK prices. Because the US S95H name refers to a different market variant from the UK S95H discussed in the comparison, these figures should not be used to price the UK model.

Samsung claimed a 30% brightness boost; that is a company marketing claim, not an independent measurement of the S95F against either 2026 UK TV.
RTINGS’ comparison of the prior-generation S95F and S90F lists the S95F as matte and 165Hz, and the S90F as glossy and 144Hz. RTINGS says the S95F is brighter, more accurate in HDR out of the box, and better at handling direct reflections. This is useful context for those earlier models, but it is not a direct test of the UK S99H and S95H.
Quick Recap
How should you choose between the UK S99H and S95H?
- Prioritize brightness and vibrancy: What Hi-Fi?’s side-by-side viewing favored the S99H on both.
- Shop by exact model code: Verify the country and full SKU, especially when a listing says only “S95H.”
- Consider room reflections: Both UK screens were described as similarly matte, but the comparison does not provide measured reflection performance.
- Check installation details: Consider whether you plan to wall-mount the set or use its feet, and confirm the stand and connection details for the exact model.
- Verify features region by region: Do not transfer the US S95H’s published gaming, processing, or One Connect features to the UK S95H without matching model-specific documentation.
