The manufacturer positions it for high-performance PCs, overclocking, large heat-sink contact areas such as custom water-cooling systems, and industrial use. Available evidence does not establish a precise temperature advantage or a long-term durability win over competing pastes.
What Hydronaut Pro is—and what silicone-free means
Hydronaut Pro is a thermal interface paste that fills microscopic gaps between a processor and its cooler. Thermal Grizzly describes it as silicone-free, electrically non-conductive, non-hardening, and RoHS compliant. Its product page lists electrical conductivity as 0 pS/m; that is the manufacturer’s stated field and unit, not a substitute for other electrical measurements.
The silicone-free carrier is the product’s clearest distinction. Thermal Grizzly says silicone oils can bleed under thermal stress and may be undesirable around certain incompatible materials or EPDM and NBR seals. Thermal cycling and small movements can also contribute to paste displacement. The company qualifies the concern: “In normal PC use, this is generally uncritical.” For a typical desktop installation, silicone-free should therefore be treated as an application-specific material choice, not a necessary safeguard for every build.
What the performance evidence does—and does not—show
Thermal Grizzly says Hydronaut Pro has increased thermal conductivity over standard Hydronaut, while acknowledging that temperature differences in its laboratory comparison appear marginal at first glance. The company describes a test using a 30 × 30 mm contact surface, 240 W heat flow, and 300 N (48 PSI) contact force. In that setup, a smaller temperature difference between the heat source and cooler indicates better thermal transfer. Thermal Grizzly says, “The lower the value, the better the thermal conductivity,” referring to this delta-temperature comparison.
#1 Best Overall
- THERMAL PASTE FOR LARGE COOLING SURFACES – Hydronaut is designed for large heat spreaders and water-cooling applications.
- SILICONE-FREE FORMULA FOR DEMANDING SYSTEMS – The carrier structure supports flexible application and makes Hydronaut suitable for industrial systems.
- MADE FOR WATER COOLING AND OVERCLOCKING – Ideal for CPU, GPU, powerful air coolers, water cooling and medium to large contact surfaces.
- EXCELLENT THERMAL CONDUCTIVITY WITHOUT CURING – Supports reliable long-term heat transfer and remains stable during extended use.
- ELECTRICALLY NON-CONDUCTIVE FOR SAFER APPLICATION – Designed for clean handling in demanding systems with high thermal loads.
The numerical values from the manufacturer’s graph were not available in the accessible page text. That means there is no support here for an exact temperature reduction or a definitive ranking against another paste. The manufacturer’s stated method is useful context, but its product claims are not an independent head-to-head result.
Independent review context
Tech4Gamers reviewer Usman Sheikh published a review on October 1, 2026. It describes two 20-minute Cinebench R23 runs separated by a 10-minute cool-down, at 25 °C ambient, using an AMD Ryzen 9 9950X at a stated 200 W heat load. The accessible review text lists the setup and qualitative conclusions, but not numerical result values. A brief review run also cannot establish long-term performance after extended use or repeated thermal cycling.

Who should consider Hydronaut Pro?
- Consider it if the materials around the interface or seals in your application make a silicone-free carrier a relevant requirement, or if you are following the manufacturer’s guidance for an industrial or specialized high-performance setup.
- It may suit large contact areas, including custom water-cooling heat sinks, and overclocking builds, which Thermal Grizzly lists among its intended uses. Those use cases do not, by themselves, prove that it will outperform a different paste on your hardware.
- For an ordinary PC repaste, silicone-free is not automatically a reason to choose it: Thermal Grizzly says displacement concerns are generally uncritical in normal PC use. Compare measured results from equivalent test setups, application behavior, and cost instead.
Hydronaut Pro versus standard Hydronaut and Duronaut Pro
The manufacturer presents Hydronaut Pro as the silicone-free option and Duronaut Pro as the formula oriented toward long-term stability. Those descriptions clarify intended distinctions, but do not independently establish which paste performs better or lasts longer in a particular system. The available material does not provide a complete comparable temperature-results table for these products.
When comparing options, focus on the factors that change the decision:
Rank #3
- ULTIMATE OVERCLOCKING PERFORMANCE - With its outstanding thermal conductivity, Hydronaut can handle overclocking, making it perfect for users with large heatsinks seeking a high-quality product at an attractive price-performance ratio, such as for their water cooling system
- PRECISE APPLICATION - The practical syringe allows for easy application of this thermal paste, delivering it exactly where it needs to be. Ideal for CPU and cooling, GPU, LEDs, and heat sink fins
- PERFECT HEAT CONDUCTION - Provides awless heat transfer without integration into the processor.
- VERSATILE COMPATIBILITY - Compatible not only with computers or laptops but also with PS 3, 4, 5, Xbox 360, One, and Series X consoles! Perfectly dissipates heat from MacBooks
- LONG-LASTING STABILITY - Hydronaut thermal paste does not harden and oers high long-term stability. It does not require a hardener, contains no silicone, and is non-conductive
- Whether the surrounding materials or application actually require a silicone-free carrier.
- Temperature differences measured under comparable conditions, rather than an unsupported thermal-conductivity headline.
- Evidence of stability over the time and thermal cycling your system is expected to see.
- Package size, price per gram, and how much paste your intended applications require.
- Application behavior and included tools.
Sizes, included tools, and price snapshots
Thermal Grizzly lists Hydronaut Pro in 2 g, 6 g, and 30 g sizes. Its 30 g listing identifies the product as TG-HP-030-R (EAN 4260711992940) and says the package includes Hydronaut Pro, a TG Spatula, and a TG Spatula Pro.

Verdict: a niche material choice, not a proven performance upgrade
Hydronaut Pro’s case rests most clearly on its silicone-free carrier and the manufacturer’s target applications. The accessible performance evidence is not detailed enough to quantify a temperature gain, crown it over standard Hydronaut or Duronaut Pro, or establish long-term endurance. If silicone-free formulation addresses a real materials constraint in your system, the product has a clear rationale; if it does not, choose based on comparable test data, cost, and practical application needs rather than the Pro name alone.
