To meet more townspeople in Dragon Shelter, follow the active requests in your current game, deliver the goods residents ask for, and keep talking to them as you build relationships. The game ties meals and neighbor bonds to new opportunities, but the available evidence does not establish one complete, fixed NPC unlock order for the full release. Use your in-game request text—not an older demo walkthrough—as the authority for what to do next.
How to unlock more townspeople
- Check the active quest or request. Read the current objective in your game and note the requested items or task. A release-aware Dragon Shelter guide cautions that quest order, item costs, and dragon timing can differ from demo footage; its advice is useful version guidance, not a verified full quest tree.
- Gather the requested ingredients or goods. If the request involves food, grow the ingredients needed for the recipe before trying to deliver it.
- Cook and deliver the requested meal. The official Steam description says, “Cooking is the heart of crafting in Dragon Shelter. Meals strengthen bonds with neighbors, lift spirits, and unlock new opportunities.” This establishes the broad relationship between cooking and progression, not a guaranteed unlock from a particular dish or affection level.
- Talk to residents again and continue their requests. After helping someone, return to them and check for further conversation or objectives. Keep advancing the requests currently shown rather than assuming a resident is missing because a guide lists a different sequence.
- Continue the wider town and farm progression. The publisher describes Dragon Shelter as a game about farming, cooking, caring for dragons, and helping townsfolk. Progress in these connected activities can create new opportunities, but the available sources do not specify a universal day-by-day route.
What is known about the townspeople roster
Do not treat the demo’s character count as the full-release roster. An unofficial townsfolk guide describes five townspeople in the Steam demo. That page calls Rufus the only confirmed proper name in its demo coverage and identifies other residents by roles; its names and requests should not be assumed to represent every character in the full game.
In a launch-period PC Gamer playthrough, the writer describes later arrivals including an alchemist, weaver, fisherman, and bard. Those are observations from that playthrough, not an official complete roster or a guaranteed unlock sequence. The game was released on Steam on 24 September 2026, according to its official listing.
Why an older walkthrough may not match your game
Demo-focused guides can help explain the general loop—gather ingredients, cook what a resident requests, deliver it, and return for more conversation—but specific recipes, item costs, quest order, and dragon timing may vary. The release-aware community guide explicitly warns about those differences. If a walkthrough asks for an item your current objective does not mention, prioritize the request displayed in your game.
