In a December 29, 2024 letter, ServeTheHome founder Patrick Kennedy said the publication needed to expand its team and balance ambitious projects with the regular reviews readers expected. He described staffing, studio, and publishing changes he hoped to pursue in 2025; the letter records those plans, not whether they later happened.

What was ServeTheHome changing in Q4 2024?

Kennedy’s letter was an operational update about the shape and workload of ServeTheHome (STH), rather than an announcement of one new product. He described a portfolio that included the main website, discussion forums, the main YouTube channel, the STH Labs short-video channel, a free weekly email newsletter, and Axautik Group’s analyst consultations, reports, and paid Substack.

As these activities grew, Kennedy said he had become a bottleneck. He wanted STH to take on distinctive, resource-intensive projects without letting them displace standard reviews and other regular coverage. His goal was to pursue larger work while improving the average output on the main site and developing content for new audiences and formats.

Why did STH say it needed to scale its team?

Kennedy cited productions about the Olympics and xAI Colossus, as well as reviews of large H200 systems such as the Aivres KR6288 NVIDIA HGX H200 and ASRock Rack 6U8X-EGS2 H200. He estimated that the major videos required five to ten times as much time as an average article or video. That was his estimate of the workload, not an independently measured comparison.

The trade-off was between the time needed for ambitious projects and the desire to sustain a daily publishing cadence while keeping each piece to a high audience standard. Kennedy described 100,000 views per piece as a bar or ambition he found challenging, not as STH’s average performance.

Hiring and succession plans

Kennedy said he wanted to grow the team and eventually find someone who could become an STH “#2.” He invited interest from people in the Phoenix and Scottsdale area and from Arizona State University students, and discussed studio-based and possibly part-time work. Those were recruiting needs and invitations expressed in December 2024; they do not establish that the same roles are open now.

What audience figures and YouTube plans did the letter report?

Kennedy reported that the main ServeTheHome YouTube channel had 800,000 subscribers in Q4 2024. He said he expected to wait until one million subscribers before doing another milestone feature. His prediction that the channel might reach one million sometime in the second half of 2025 was conditional on growth not slowing too much; it was a forecast made in December 2024, not confirmation that the milestone was reached.

He also reported that STH Labs had passed 10,000 subscribers that quarter and said it needed to post more frequently. Both subscriber counts are figures Kennedy reported for Q4 2024 in his letter; they should not be read as current counts.

What studio and publishing changes were proposed?

Kennedy outlined a possible new studio set, changes to the standing set, and more off-site filming in early 2025. He also expressed the hope of bringing bigger projects to the STH community while improving the main site’s average coverage and making work for new audiences and formats. These were intentions for 2025, not verified reports of completed changes.

How did Axautik Group fit into the plan?

Kennedy positioned Axautik Group as the “Analyst” element in an “Analyst-Influencer-Other” model aimed at financial-community audiences. The letter described its offerings as consultations, reports, and a paid Substack, and said STH content informed those formats. He stated that Axautik Group was not a replacement for STH. The letter does not provide current prices, access terms, or later financial results.

What the letter establishes—and what it does not

The letter documents Kennedy’s view of STH’s capacity challenge and his plans as of December 29, 2024. It establishes the subscriber counts he reported for Q4 2024 and the workload estimate and ambitions he described. It does not establish whether the 2025 hiring, studio, or publishing plans were carried out, whether the main channel reached one million subscribers, or what Axautik Group’s current terms are.
