Microsoft plans to move Windows 11 devices managed through Intune from Device Health Attestation (DHA) to Microsoft Azure Attestation (MAA) during the first half of 2027. For administrators, the key preparation is ensuring those devices can reach the MAA endpoints assigned to their Intune tenant. Blocked access can prevent attestation and cause affected devices to fall out of compliance.
What is changing—and when?
In a September 17, 2026 Windows Message Center announcement titled “Intune: Windows Health Attestation Migration to Microsoft Azure Attestation,” Microsoft said Windows 11 devices managed through Intune are planned to migrate automatically from DHA to MAA for Windows Health Attestation compliance evaluation. The planned window is the first half of 2027; Microsoft has not stated a specific migration date or a tenant-by-tenant rollout schedule in the cited announcement. Microsoft Windows Message Center
This is a change to Intune’s attestation service path, not an announcement that Windows 11 is gaining general Azure support or that its operating-system lifecycle is changing. Windows servicing dates are a separate matter covered on Microsoft’s Windows 11 Home and Pro lifecycle page.
Which devices and policies are affected?
The migration guidance applies to Windows 11 devices managed with Intune when their assigned compliance policies use Device Health settings, including BitLocker, Secure Boot, or Code Integrity. Those devices must be able to contact the MAA endpoints relevant to their tenant. Microsoft’s Intune endpoint documentation warns that blocked access can prevent attestation and leave devices out of compliance. Microsoft Intune network endpoint documentation
#1 Best Overall
- 1.1 GHz (boost up to 2.4GHz) Intel Celeron N5030 Quad-Core
- In scope: Windows 11 devices managed through Intune and evaluated with the specified Device Health compliance settings.
- Not included in this change: Windows 10 and GCCH/DOD environments, which Microsoft’s endpoint guidance says continue using the existing DHA endpoint.
Microsoft has not published a quantified device count or compliance-failure rate for the migration.
How to prepare Intune network access
Use the endpoint list that matches the Intune tenant’s location; generic Azure allow-listing alone may not cover the tenant-specific service names documented by Microsoft.
Rank #2
- 256 GB SSD of storage.
- Multitasking is easy with 16GB of RAM
- Equipped with a blazing fast Core i5 2.00 GHz processor.
- Identify applicable devices and policies. Find Windows 11 devices managed by Intune and review their assigned compliance policies for Device Health settings such as BitLocker, Secure Boot, or Code Integrity.
- Check the tenant location. In the Intune admin center, open Tenant administration > Tenant status > Tenant details. Note the tenant location.
- Find the corresponding MAA endpoints. In Microsoft’s Network endpoints for Microsoft Intune documentation, use the North America, Europe, or Asia Pacific list that applies to the tenant. Consult the section on migrating device health attestation compliance policies to Microsoft Azure Attestation.
- Review egress and inspection rules. Ensure the listed endpoints are reachable outbound over HTTPS on port 443. Review firewall and proxy rules, and make sure SSL traffic inspection is not applied to those listed endpoints, as Microsoft’s guidance specifies.
- Validate after the transition. Check Intune compliance reporting for the affected devices after migration. If devices cannot attest or fall out of compliance, confirm that the tenant-specific endpoint names are allowed, outbound HTTPS is available, and SSL inspection is excluded for those endpoints.
What this does not mean
The announcement concerns Windows Health Attestation compliance evaluation for Windows 11 devices managed through Intune. It should not be read as a Windows 11 lifecycle extension, a general operating-system feature announcement, or a migration notice for Windows 10 or GCCH/DOD. The available Microsoft guidance does not provide a more precise rollout date than the first half of 2027.
