AMD does not list a dedicated Windows 10 webcam driver or offline webcam installer in the support material covered here. AMD’s driver tools are for compatible Radeon graphics and Ryzen chipset hardware, and its Auto-Detect tool requires an internet connection. To fix a camera, identify the webcam and computer model, then download the camera driver from the device maker’s official support page using another internet-connected device if necessary.
Why an AMD driver is unlikely to fix the webcam
AMD’s Windows 10 driver FAQ covers Radeon graphics products and their graphics drivers, not webcam drivers. AMD’s Auto-Detect utility checks for compatible Radeon graphics and Ryzen chipset hardware and downloads drivers for those products; it does not identify or install a camera driver simply because the camera is connected to an AMD-based computer. AMD’s support pages reviewed here do not establish that no AMD-based computer has ever shipped with a camera. They do establish that the listed AMD driver routes address AMD graphics or chipset hardware, not a webcam-specific driver. Installing a Radeon or Ryzen chipset package is therefore not a targeted camera fix.
Find the correct camera driver
- Identify the computer or webcam. For an integrated camera, note the computer’s manufacturer and exact model. For an external webcam, find its manufacturer and model from the label, packaging, or device listing.
- Check Device Manager. In Windows 10, right-click Start and select Device Manager. Look under Cameras, Imaging devices, or Sound, video and game controllers. If the camera appears as an unknown device, open its properties and check Details > Hardware Ids, if available.
- Use the official support page. Search the computer maker’s support site for the exact PC model and Windows 10, or the webcam maker’s support site for an external camera. Confirm the package matches the device and Windows version before downloading.
- Install the package. If you need to work offline, download the manufacturer’s full driver package on a computer with internet access, transfer it using removable storage, and run the installer on the target PC. Follow the device maker’s instructions; some packages may require an internet connection or a specific installation method.
For an integrated camera, the computer manufacturer is usually the most practical first stop: the supported driver can depend on the exact laptop or desktop model. That is general device-troubleshooting guidance, not an AMD-specific driver claim.

Can AMD’s Auto-Detect tool work offline?
No. AMD states that its Auto-Detect & Install tool requires an internet connection. The utility supports compatible AMD graphics and Ryzen chipset products, and its support article was last updated June 2, 2025. AMD lists Windows 10 64-bit version 1809 and later for supported products; check the current page for device compatibility. The tool is not an offline webcam installer. If you actually need an AMD graphics or chipset driver, select the specific AMD product through AMD’s Product Selector guidance or use the official AMD processors and graphics driver support page. These are separate from finding a camera driver.

What to do if the camera still does not work
- Check that the camera is enabled in Windows and that any physical privacy shutter or keyboard camera switch is open.
- In Device Manager, inspect the camera’s status and try the manufacturer’s correct driver rather than an unrelated AMD graphics or chipset package.
- If no camera device is detected, verify the exact PC or webcam model and use the manufacturer’s support guidance. The available details here are not enough to determine whether a particular camera fault is caused by software, configuration, connection, or hardware.
- Avoid unofficial driver-download sites and generic driver-updater utilities; they cannot be matched reliably to an unidentified camera.
