T-Mobile includes 5G access at no extra cost for customers with a 5G-capable phone, but that does not mean every phone, plan feature, or address is covered equally. Check your exact phone model, compare plan prices for your household’s line count, and look up your address on T-Mobile’s coverage map before switching.
Does T-Mobile charge extra for 5G?
T-Mobile says 5G access is included in its plans at no additional cost when you use a capable device. Some uses or features may require a qualifying plan, so included 5G access does not necessarily mean every plan has identical features. See T-Mobile’s coverage map and FAQ for its device and service qualifications.
How much do T-Mobile plans cost?
There is no single price that applies to every customer: T-Mobile lists prices by plan and number of lines. On the plan comparison page consulted October 4, 2026, the displayed Experience More monthly price labels were as follows. These are plan-page examples for the stated line counts, not per-line prices; read the live page’s discount and billing disclosures alongside them.
| Lines | Experience More displayed monthly price |
|---|---|
| 1 | $90 |
| 2 | $150 |
| 3 | $185 |
| 4 | $220 |
| 5 | $255 |
These examples come from T-Mobile’s plan comparison page, consulted October 4, 2026. Your bill may differ because of fees, taxes, AutoPay terms, discount eligibility, promotions, or device financing. Plan names, offers, and customer eligibility can change, and existing customers may not qualify for the same offers as new customers.

What should you compare when choosing a plan?
Start with your household’s expected total bill, then compare the features you will actually use. T-Mobile’s live plan comparison is the place to verify current inclusions and eligibility.
- Premium data and congestion terms: Check how the plan handles data use when the network is busy.
- Hotspot: Compare the included amount and the speed or terms that apply after it is used.
- International service: Review data and calling details for Canada, Mexico, and other destinations relevant to you.
- Entertainment: Confirm which services are included, which plan is required, and any applicable conditions.
- Phone upgrades: Check the upgrade cadence and terms rather than assuming all plans offer the same timing.
- Discounts and device costs: Confirm your eligibility and include any device payments when estimating the monthly total.
Will your phone work on T-Mobile 5G?
You need a 5G-capable phone to access 5G. T-Mobile provides a 5G phones page, but compatibility is model-specific: “unlocked 5G phone” by itself is not enough to establish support for every T-Mobile band or feature.

- Brilliant 6.5” Super AMOLED Display: Enjoy vibrant colors and smooth visuals with a 90Hz refresh rate for seamless scrolling and viewing.
- Powerful 5G performance: Stay connected with fast data speeds and reliable coverage on T-Mobile’s 5G network (carrier-locked; not compatible with other carriers).
- 64GB internal storage + expandable memory: Easily store photos, videos, and apps with microSD support up to 1TB (card sold separately).
- Triple rear camera system: 50MP main camera, 5MP ultra-wide, and 2MP depth sensor for capturing sharp photos and HD videos in any light.
Before buying or bringing a device, check the precise model number, whether it is locked to another carrier, and its supported network bands and features. Confirm details with the manufacturer or seller and T-Mobile’s current device information. If you are buying a phone specifically for T-Mobile, verify that exact model rather than relying on a family name shared by several variants.
How do you check T-Mobile 5G coverage at your address?
- Open T-Mobile’s coverage map.
- Enter your address or ZIP code and review the expected coverage for the location you care about.
- Consider where you use your phone: the map estimates outdoor coverage, so indoor reception and performance near coverage edges can differ.
- Check that your phone and plan support the service or features you intend to use; availability can vary by location, device, and plan.
T-Mobile says its 2026 coverage page shows 5G coverage for 98% of Americans and LTE coverage for 99%. Those are T-Mobile’s population-coverage claims, not independent measurements or a guarantee of service at every address. The company says the map approximates anticipated outdoor coverage and does not guarantee availability; indoor service and low-bandwidth edge areas may perform differently.

What do T-Mobile’s network claims say about actual speeds?
T-Mobile describes its network as nationwide standalone 5G and cites capabilities including network slicing and multi-carrier aggregation on its network comparison page. It also calls its network the fastest based on Ookla Speedtest Intelligence national Speed Score results incorporating 5G download and upload results for the first half of 2026. That is T-Mobile’s description of the cited comparison, not a promise of a particular speed where you live or a measurement of your own connection. Local experience can vary.
