To get a Latvian IP address, connect to a VPN server location in Latvia. Install the provider’s app, choose Latvia, and connect; websites will then see the VPN’s Latvian exit address rather than your usual public IP. Availability changes, and a Latvian exit address does not guarantee that a bank, government portal, or streaming service will accept the connection.
Get a Latvian IP address with a VPN
- Check that Latvia is available. Choose a VPN whose current app or support page lists Latvia. Locations can change; PIA advises checking the VPN SERVER section in its app for the most current list for your account or device (PIA’s server-location support article).
- Install the official app. Create an account or subscribe if the provider requires it, then install its app for your device. Proton lists support for macOS, Windows, iOS, Android, Linux, and Chromebook on its Latvia VPN page; check the provider’s current documentation for other services and devices.
- Select Latvia and connect. Sign in, select Latvia in the location list, and connect. ExpressVPN and PIA describe this basic workflow in their respective guides (ExpressVPN’s Latvia guide; PIA’s Latvia guide).
- Check the visible exit location. Once connected, use an IP-checking service or the site you intend to visit to see whether the connection appears to come from Latvia. A location result checks the visible exit address; it does not show whether a particular service will allow access.
Choose a VPN that fits your device and use
Provider pages reviewed for this guide document Latvia locations, but they are provider-authored descriptions rather than independent tests. Compare whether Latvia is currently selectable, app support for your device, router instructions if needed, privacy-policy and audit evidence, support options, and current price and refund terms. Avoid choosing on the basis of advertised speed, server counts, or streaming compatibility alone.

Using a VPN on a phone, TV, or console
Phones, tablets, and computers
For a phone, tablet, or computer that supports the provider’s app, use the app workflow: choose Latvia and connect. Check the provider’s current device support before subscribing, since platform availability varies.
Devices without a VPN app
A VPN-compatible router may provide VPN coverage to devices that cannot run an app, such as some older smart TVs and gaming consoles. PIA and AdGuard document router options (PIA router VPN; AdGuard router setup). Router setup depends on the exact model and provider instructions, so check compatibility before buying or configuring one. A router is not necessary for the usual phone or computer setup.

What a Latvian IP can—and cannot—do
A Latvia VPN changes the network address visible to websites, which may help with restrictions based on IP location. It is not a guarantee of access. A service may also consider its own policies, licensing, account checks, or VPN-detection systems. Provider statements about streaming, banking, or local-site use describe what that provider markets, not a promise that a named service will work. Check the target service’s current rules and behavior.
Likewise, provider statements about privacy, no-logs practices, speed, server counts, or physical server locations should be treated as provider claims unless supported by independent evidence. The provider pages cited here do not establish a comparative ranking of those qualities or the legal status of VPN use in Latvia.
