In plan comparisons published on June 26, 2025, TELUS added a 25 GB bonus to several offers, but some comparable plans cost $5 more per month while providing less total data. Other financed-phone plans kept the same listed price but also had less data. These are historical prices, not a current TELUS price list.
What changed in TELUS’s 25 GB bonus plans?
MobileSyrup’s June 26, 2025 snapshot compared TELUS plans with earlier offers. The reported prices included a $10 monthly pre-authorized bank payment discount. “BYOP” means bring your own phone; the other prices were for plans with a financed phone.
| Plan type and coverage | June 26, 2025 offer | Earlier offer | Change |
|---|---|---|---|
| BYOP, Canada only | $65/month for 125 GB, including 25 GB bonus | $60/month for 125 GB | $5/month more; same total data |
| BYOP, Canada/U.S. | $75/month for 175 GB, including 25 GB bonus | $70/month for 200 GB | $5/month more; 25 GB less |
| BYOP, Canada/U.S./Mexico | $90/month for 225 GB, including 25 GB bonus | $85/month for 275 GB | $5/month more; 50 GB less |
| Financed phone, Canada only | $75/month for 125 GB | $75/month for 125 GB | Same listed price and data |
| Financed phone, Canada/U.S. | $85/month for 175 GB | $85/month for 200 GB | Same listed price; 25 GB less |
| Financed phone, Canada/U.S./Mexico | $100/month for 225 GB | $100/month for 275 GB | Same listed price; 50 GB less |
All June figures and earlier comparisons in this table come from MobileSyrup’s June 26, 2025 report; its prices included the $10 pre-authorized bank payment discount. The 25 GB bonus is part of the listed total in the bonus offers, not an extra 25 GB on top of those totals. MobileSyrup’s June 26 report.
How did the offers compare with TELUS’s May 2025 plans?
MobileSyrup’s May 22, 2025 report listed BYOP Canada/U.S. service at $70 per month for 200 GB and Canada/U.S./Mexico service at $85 per month for 275 GB. Both prices included the same $10 monthly pre-authorized bank payment discount. By June 26, the reported equivalents were $75 for 175 GB and $90 for 225 GB, respectively. MobileSyrup’s May 22 report.

The May article also listed a $60/month BYOP offer with 125 GB, which provides context for the June Canada-only offer at $65 for 125 GB. Together, the reports show that TELUS’s offers changed during that month; they do not establish what a customer would be quoted today.
Was the TELUS 25 GB bonus actually a better deal?
Not on data and price alone for the BYOP Canada/U.S. and Canada/U.S./Mexico comparisons: each cost $5 more per month and provided less total data than the earlier offer. For the Canada-only BYOP comparison, the listed data stayed at 125 GB while the monthly price rose by $5. The financed Canada-only comparison was unchanged in both listed price and data; the other financed comparisons kept their prices but offered less data.

A bonus label does not by itself tell you whether a plan is better value. The useful comparison is the complete offer, including:
- Recurring monthly cost: Check the amount after discounts and whether you qualify for them. MobileSyrup’s figures included a $10 pre-authorized bank payment discount.
- Total data: Compare the full allowance, not just the bonus amount. Check any bonus duration or eligibility conditions in the offer terms.
- Network speed: Confirm the plan’s maximum speeds and any speed limits that matter to your use; the cited reports do not establish those details for every comparison.
- Roaming geography: Distinguish Canada-only coverage from Canada/U.S. and Canada/U.S./Mexico plans.
- Phone arrangement: Compare BYOP pricing with the total cost and conditions of financing a device.
- Price-lock terms: Check what is covered by any advertised lock and which discounts or credits are excluded.

TELUS’s current plans page advertises a five-year rate-plan price lock for eligible plans. That current offer does not change the historical comparisons above or confirm that the 2025 plans are still sold.
