Yes—NVIDIA officially released a native GeForce NOW app for Steam Deck on May 29, 2025. To install it, switch the Deck to Desktop Mode, open NVIDIA’s download page, and follow its Steam Deck download flow. NVIDIA says the installer adds the app to your Steam Library so you can launch it in Gaming Mode.
What the Steam Deck app does
GeForce NOW streams supported PC games from NVIDIA’s cloud service rather than installing the full PC game locally on the Deck. You need an internet connection, access to GeForce NOW, and a compatible game through a connected game library. The app does not grant ownership of paid games. NVIDIA described the launch as a way to access connected game libraries on Steam Deck.
NVIDIA’s May 29, 2025 launch announcement listed more than 2,200 supported games and more than 180 supported PC Game Pass titles. Those are launch-date figures, not a current catalog count; check the service for whether a particular game and storefront are supported.
How to install GeForce NOW on Steam Deck
- Switch to Desktop Mode. Open the Steam Deck’s power menu and choose Desktop Mode.
- Open NVIDIA’s GeForce NOW download page. Use the Steam Deck download flow shown there.
- Follow NVIDIA’s instructions for the downloaded installer script. NVIDIA says the script installs GeForce NOW in the Steam Library for use in Gaming Mode.
- Return to Gaming Mode and launch GeForce NOW from the Steam Library.
This is NVIDIA’s documented installation route; a third-party launcher or unofficial script is not required by the instructions on its download page.

Check your connection before streaming
NVIDIA recommends wired Ethernet or 5 GHz Wi-Fi and specifies latency below 80 ms to an NVIDIA data center. Its handheld requirements give these minimum bandwidth examples:
| Streaming target | NVIDIA-stated minimum bandwidth |
|---|---|
| HD, up to 60 FPS | 15 Mbps |
| FHD, 60 FPS | 25 Mbps |
These are published requirements, not a guarantee of identical results for every connection. Available bandwidth, latency, and network stability all matter.

Resolution and frame rate depend on the membership tier
NVIDIA assigns 1440p streaming and 90/120 FPS features on supported handhelds to its Ultimate membership. In an August 18, 2025 announcement, NVIDIA said GeForce NOW could deliver up to 90 FPS on Steam Deck. “Up to” describes a capability, not a promise of sustained frame rate in every game or on every connection; the applicable device, game, tier, and network conditions matter.

You do not need a dock to install the app or play on the Deck’s built-in screen. NVIDIA also described docking the Deck to a TV as an option. For that setup, a compatible USB-C dock may be useful, but NVIDIA does not identify a particular dock as required or endorse a specific model.
