Use your first two or three guesses to reveal a broad mix of new letters across the four boards, then shift toward solving as strong clues emerge. Every guess is played on all four boards, but feedback belongs to each board separately—so the best next guess can differ from one answer to another.
How Quordle’s shared guesses and feedback work
The consulted Quordle game page describes a game with four simultaneous five-letter words and nine total attempts. Each guess is applied to all four boards, and each board returns its own clues. Quordle’s game page
- Green: the letter is correct and in the right position.
- Yellow: the letter appears in that board’s answer, but in a different position.
- Gray: the letter is absent from that board’s answer.

Choose an opener for information, not a guaranteed solve
Pick a word with distinct, common letters and a mix of vowels and consonants. The aim is to test several possibilities at once, not to rely on one opener as a reliable route to an immediate answer. In practice, an opener is useful when its feedback helps you eliminate or place letters on multiple boards. Repeating a letter early may be worthwhile when you have a specific reason to test it, but otherwise distinct letters generally give you more different information from one guess.
Read the first result board by board
After your opener, make four separate mental note sets. A gray letter rules out that letter only for the board that marked it gray; it may still be part of another board’s answer. Likewise, a green or yellow clue applies to its own board, not automatically to the other three.

- Record each board’s green letters in their confirmed positions.
- Keep yellow letters in the candidate pool, but exclude their already-tested positions.
- Remove gray letters from that board’s candidate pool.
- Use the board-specific keyboard indicators as a cross-check rather than collapsing all clues into one shared list.
Choose the second or third guess from the clues
Early on, weigh two goals: testing more distinct letters and using what you already know. If few positions are confirmed, a guess with several new letters can reveal useful information across the boards. If one board has strong green and yellow clues, a more targeted candidate may be better—provided it does not waste the guess by ignoring information on the other unsolved boards.
- Start with the board that has the clearest pattern. Write down its green positions and the possible positions for each yellow letter.
- Check each candidate against board-specific exclusions. Do not use a letter marked gray on that board; avoid putting a yellow letter back in a position where it was already tested.
- Look for a guess that also tests new letters elsewhere. Since the guess reaches all unsolved boards, a plausible word for one board may reveal additional letters on the others.
- Compare the information with the solving opportunity. If the word fits a strong candidate pattern, committing to it can advance that board; if it mostly repeats known letters, a broader test may be more informative.
These are decision criteria, not measured scoring rules. The available guidance does not provide benchmark scores for how many letters a guess should reveal or how often a particular approach wins.

When to stop exploring and start solving
Move from broad discovery toward candidate answers when the feedback gives you a usable pattern: several fixed positions, a set of known letters, or enough exclusions to narrow the possibilities. You do not have to make the same strategic choice for every board on the same turn. One board may be close to a solution while another still needs new-letter coverage.
A solving guess is not wasted on the other boards: it is still evaluated there, and may uncover additional clues. Before entering it, check that it respects the clues on the board you are trying to solve and consider whether its letters are useful on the remaining unsolved boards.

A compact turn-by-turn routine
- Guess one: use a distinct-letter word that samples vowels and consonants.
- Review all four boards independently: log greens, yellows, and grays for each.
- Guess two: favor new letters where patterns are weak; target a candidate where feedback is strong.
- After each turn: update each board’s notes, then choose whether your next shared guess should explore or solve.
- Use the remaining attempts deliberately: avoid repeating excluded letters or disregarding confirmed positions on the board you are targeting.
