Among the Galaxy S26 models covered by Samsung’s 2026 announcements, the Galaxy S26 Ultra has the largest battery capacity: 5,000 mAh typical. The Galaxy S26+ is close behind at 4,900 mAh, while the Galaxy S26 is rated at 4,300 mAh. These figures compare battery capacity, not guaranteed time between charges.
Galaxy S26 battery capacities compared
Samsung publishes both a typical capacity and a rated minimum capacity for these phones. Typical capacity is an estimated average based on deviations among battery samples tested under IEC 61960; the rated minimum is a separate specification.
| Model | Typical capacity | Rated minimum |
|---|---|---|
| Galaxy S26 Ultra | 5,000 mAh | 4,855 mAh |
| Galaxy S26+ | 4,900 mAh | 4,755 mAh |
| Galaxy S26 | 4,300 mAh | 4,175 mAh |
Samsung gives the S26 Ultra figures in its 2026 U.S. announcement and the S26 and S26+ figures in its 2026 global announcement.
Does the largest battery mean the longest battery life?
Not necessarily. mAh describes capacity; it does not directly measure how long a phone lasts in everyday use. Samsung says actual battery life can vary with network environment, usage patterns and other factors. The cited announcements do not provide a controlled, independent runtime comparison across the three S26 models, so the 100 mAh difference between the S26 Ultra and S26+ is not enough to establish which lasts longer in practice.

How the S26 compares with its predecessor
Samsung Ireland Support lists the Galaxy S26 at 4,300 mAh, up from 4,000 mAh for the S25. It lists both the S26+ and S25+ at 4,900 mAh. These are capacity comparisons, not evidence of a corresponding change in real-world endurance. Samsung Ireland’s 2026 battery-capacity comparison provides those figures.

A larger historical Samsung battery
The S26 Ultra is the capacity leader within the cited S26 family, but it is not the largest battery Samsung has ever announced. In 2020, Samsung India announced the Galaxy M51 with a 7,000 mAh battery for the India market. That historical announcement does not establish that the M51 is currently available. Samsung India’s 2020 announcement documents the original specification.
