Beats supports Apple and Android devices. Features can vary with the phone, operating system, and ecosystem, so broad compatibility does not guarantee identical functionality on every device. The reviewed sources conflict on Bluetooth version and how to describe USB-C audio, so check Beats’ current specifications if either detail matters to your setup. Conventional 3.5 mm wired listening is not available, according to WIRED and CNET.
Are Beats 360 good for working out?
Workout use is the product’s clearest distinction from typical over-ear headphones. IPX4 means protection against sweat and splashes from any direction; it does not mean waterproof or safe to submerge. Beats positions the headphones for running, training, and daily movement.

WIRED found the fit secure and the interchangeable cushions useful in the gym, but reported that the headphones could shift during some exercises. That is one reviewer’s experience, not a guarantee of fit for every head or activity. Over-ear headphones may also feel warm or move more than sport-specific in-ear designs, so fit is worth considering if your workouts involve vigorous movement.
How do the modular cushions work?
Both the earcup and headband cushions can be removed and replaced. WIRED describes Performance Knit as more breathable and suitable for exercise, while its reviewer preferred the softer UltraPlush material for ordinary listening. Reviewers also describe removing cushions for cleaning or replacement, but a specific cleaning method or result is not established here. Follow Beats’ care instructions rather than assuming a particular wash or cleaning process is safe.
How do sound, ANC, and comfort compare?
There is no single reviewer consensus that Beats 360 is best in class. CNET’s David Carnoy rated it 8.4 and praised sound, ANC, calls, and the modular design. WIRED’s Harry Rabinowitz rated it 7/10, citing a weak midrange for his listening and clamping that became uncomfortable during long everyday sessions. Those are different reviewers’ judgments, not results from a shared test.

Tom’s Guide called the ANC Beats’ best to date, but said Bose and Sony remain stronger. Beats itself claims up to 1.75 times more total noise cancellation than Beats Studio Pro; that is a manufacturer comparison, not an independent measurement. If your priority is reducing low-frequency noise for travel, compare current Bose and Sony options in person or against reviews focused on that use case. If you prefer a particular midrange balance or wear headphones for long office sessions, the contrasting sound and comfort reports make a fit-and-listen trial especially useful.
How long does the Beats 360 battery last?
Beats claims up to 32 hours with ANC and Personalized Spatial Audio enabled. It also claims a five-minute Fast Fuel charge provides up to one hour of playback. Who should consider Beats 360?
Consider them if you want over-ear headphones for gym sessions, value sweat and splash resistance, and expect to benefit from replaceable cushions. Their Apple and Android compatibility, ANC, and battery claim also make them plausible everyday headphones.
Look elsewhere if you need wired listening, automatic wear detection, a reliably comfortable fit for long office sessions, or the strongest available ANC for travel. Bose and Sony models are relevant alternatives to compare, but model prices and availability change; choose by fit, noise cancellation, sound preference, and the features you actually use.
