Set the Hotel Room 204 lock to 18 / January / 1996. The Room Service Card gives you the year; CRTV footage reveals the day and month. Once the lock opens, take the Room 204 Key from the bathroom and use it on the other hotel-room door.
How to solve the Hotel Room 204 date puzzle
- Find the year: Inspect the Room Service Card in the room. The Haldane Hotel menu is marked 1996, which supplies the year. PowerPyx’s collectible guide also identifies the card as a clue.
- Find the day and month: Use the CRTV and inspect the date-related footage. Read the image for the 18th and the calendar clue for January. AltChar’s walkthrough describes the footage clues.
- Set the lock: Turn the date wheels to 18 on top, January in the middle, and 1996 on the bottom. The lock requires a day, month, and year, not a single numeric code. PowerPyx’s puzzle guide gives the same date.
- Continue through the room: After the lock opens, enter the bathroom and take the Room 204 Key. Use it on the other hotel-room door to leave the room.
What if the CRTV channel number does not match?
Walkthroughs do not use a consistent channel label for the relevant CRTV footage. The Haldane Hotel guide and PowerPyx’s puzzle walkthrough refer to Channel 60, while PowerPyx’s collectible entries discuss signals near 50 and 62; AllThings.how’s guide describes separate signals for the day and month. These labels are not fully reconciled across the guides, so use the visible date and calendar clues in your game rather than treating one channel number as definitive.
