The Majority Bowfell Halo Atmos makes its case with what comes in the package: a compact soundbar, a dedicated subwoofer and rear speakers in a system reviewed as 5.1. Reviews in 2026 put its UK price at about £169, but describe a sound that can lack scale and let bass dominate. It is a tempting upgrade if you want a fuller, bundled setup on a tight budget—not a guarantee of convincing overhead Atmos effects. The findings below are attributed to TechRadar, AVForums and What Hi-Fi?; they are not an Expert Reviews test or an independent listening test.
What do you get with the Bowfell Halo Atmos?
TechRadar lists the Majority as a 5.1 system with a soundbar, dedicated subwoofer and rear speakers. That bundled configuration is its clearest value advantage over a basic standalone TV soundbar. The review’s comparison table lists HDMI eARC, digital optical, AUX, USB and Bluetooth 5.3, and Dolby Atmos support but no DTS:X. It gives dimensions of 405 × 90 × 62 mm for the bar, 185 × 150 × 320 mm for the subwoofer, and 90 × 62 mm for the rear speakers. These are TechRadar-reported specifications, not independently verified current manufacturer specifications. TechRadar’s review and comparison table

How does it sound?
Bass and action films
TechRadar found the subwoofer impactful and said action films gained fullness compared with basic TV audio, while noting that the presentation was not as expansive as desired. AVForums also found the sound bold and engaging for compact housings, but warned that bass could become overbearing. Together, those assessments suggest a system that can add weight and energy, though listeners who prefer tightly controlled, restrained bass may find the balance too emphatic. TechRadar; AVForums

Dialogue and spatial presentation
AVForums praised dialogue clarity for everyday television, a practical strength for speech-heavy viewing. That is separate from cinematic spaciousness: the same review described the soundstage as clumsy, while TechRadar found the result less expansive than hoped. The rear speakers make this a 5.1 bundle rather than a bar-only system, but the reviews do not establish that it produces precise, enveloping surround effects in every room.
Does Dolby Atmos deliver overhead sound?
The system supports Dolby Atmos according to TechRadar’s specification table, and What Hi-Fi? highlighted Atmos as part of the compact design’s appeal. Support for an audio format means the system can handle Atmos content under suitable conditions; it does not by itself prove convincing sound from above. The cited reviews do not establish consistent overhead immersion, and no guarantee can be made across different rooms, sources or TV connections. Check that the TV and the rest of the playback chain can pass the format you intend to use.

Is the Majority Bowfell Halo Atmos worth the price?
Its value depends on how much you want the included subwoofer and rear speakers. TechRadar and What Hi-Fi? each reported a UK review-time price of £169 in 2026; AVForums gave a reported MSRP of £169.95. AVForums rated it 7/10. Those are historical publication figures and an editorial score, not a current quote or standardized test result. Current price, stock and availability by region are unverified. What Hi-Fi?’s review; AVForums’ review
At roughly those review-time UK prices, the attraction was a compact 5.1 package at an entry-level cost. The trade-off in the reviewers’ accounts is less convincing scale and spatial presentation than the Atmos label might lead some buyers to expect, with bass that can overpower. It makes most sense if having the subwoofer and rear speakers included matters more than refined soundstage or reliably immersive height effects.

How does it compare with alternatives?
TechRadar’s comparison table offers two useful contrasts. These configurations and characterizations are from its review, and should not be treated as current prices or a live market comparison.
| Model | Configuration and included speakers | What the comparison highlights |
|---|---|---|
| Majority Bowfell Halo Atmos | 5.1; subwoofer and rear speakers; Dolby Atmos support | Compact bundled setup; reviewers noted impactful bass alongside limitations in scale and balance. |
| Sony HT-SF150 | 2.0 standalone bar; no Atmos, subwoofer or rear speakers | TechRadar’s table highlights clear dialogue and clean bass. It is a simpler format, not a like-for-like surround bundle. |
| Hisense AX5125H | 5.1.2 package with subwoofer and rear speakers | TechRadar lists it as costing more; its channel configuration differs from the Majority’s 5.1 setup. |
TechRadar’s comparison table does not establish current prices for these alternatives. Compare what is included, the connection options and the sound characteristics that matter to you—not price alone. A 2.0 bar and a 5.1 or 5.1.2 package serve different expectations.
