There is no single best monitor for every graphic designer. Match the display to the work: sRGB or P3 and a dependable calibration workflow for screen-first design; Adobe RGB support may matter for print and packaging; and resolution, ports, and ergonomics shape how well the monitor fits your desk. These three current candidates have distinct strengths, but their manufacturer claims are not directly comparable independent test results.
How to choose a monitor for graphic design
Start with the color workflow
Choose a monitor for the color spaces and deliverables you actually use, not the largest gamut percentage on a spec sheet. sRGB is relevant to many screen-first workflows, while P3 is another useful display gamut. Adobe RGB may be important for print-oriented work. A wider gamut does not by itself establish that a display is accurate, or that colors will match your output; consider calibration and consistency as well. TechRadar’s 2026 buying guide identifies sRGB, Adobe RGB, and DCI-P3 as relevant gamuts for design and print work: TechRadar’s monitor buying guide.
Look beyond the coverage figure
Coverage percentages describe a maker’s stated gamut coverage; they are not a substitute for independently measured accuracy. Check whether the monitor supports a calibration workflow that suits your work, and distinguish a calibrated mode or a claimed Delta E figure from a test performed by an independent lab. The specifications below are attributed to their manufacturers because comparable independent measurements are not established here.
Balance resolution, size, and connections
A 27-inch 4K screen and a 27-inch 5K screen offer different pixel densities and workspace characteristics. Consider how much room you need for tools and canvases, how sharply text and interface elements render, and whether your computer can connect at the resolution and refresh rate you intend to use. For a laptop setup, check USB-C power delivery and other ports alongside the display specifications.
